Great home away from home

We were traveling for several weeks around England and Scotland, and this was like a vacation on our vacation from the busy city. Great location on the isle (Portree, hiking, castles) and wonderful neighborhood atmosphere (quiet with cows and sheep across the fence). Wonderful kitchen amenities (full size fridge/freezer, pans, utensils - we cooked a family meal every day). Felt homey; we would definitely stay here again! The only downside is that with sunsets at 10:30pm (June), the smaller room with the skylight didn't have the dark shades of the larger rooms, which our 8 year old found challenging. The other minor surprise is that the tv is netflix capable but requires one's own account.

This is a very well equipped property with plenty of space in a prime location to explore what skye has too offer. The whole process and communication with mairi is very good. We spent 5 nights in this property and everyone enjoyed it. Well worth a stay again.

Beautiful place and a lovely cottage

We had a fantastic week in this cottage, it is a situation in a perfect location for exploring Skye. The cottage was clean and well equipped and the hosts were excellent with their communication and extremely helpful when we needed to change our holiday dates, they accommodated us quickly and the whole booking process couldn't have been easier. A wonderful place for a family holiday.

Fabulous family cottage

We’ve had the most amazing week in hartaval. It’s such a beautiful cottage with lots of space and thoughtfully kitted out for a family. Great location close to Portree and Uig, easy to get to lots of things that you’ll want to do on Skye. Kitchen is very well stocked, high chair and cot were so great for our little one. You’ll need to bring a blackout blind if travelling with a baby though. Thanks so much for a great week!

Perfect get-away from it all

Cottage had everything we needed - once we got used to the downstairs bathroom (first up put the kettle on!). Location was perfect - far enough away to experience the peace, quiet and dark skies. But close enough to any amenities if needed. Communication was excellent. Only question is when to come back!

A cosy and peaceful haven

Cosy, well-equipped cottage in a perfect location. Ten minutes’ drive from the shops and restaurants of Portree. Sheep grazing in the field opposite, rabbits nibbling the lawn, a hare lolloping down the lane. Situated on the beautiful Trotternish peninsula. It was a perfect holiday for our family of three, including my teenage son.

A Home from Home

This property is a home away from home. It is set up as a home rather than an holiday let. Spotlessly clean. Everything appears brand new or in very good condition. Kitchen was fully stocked. They'd even provided fresh coffee and a cafetiere. Wifi worked perfectly. It was a perfect place and is going to be hard to top for future holidays!

Cosy and central

As a family we found the property very comfortable and ideal for our needs. The modern kitchen made eating at home very convenient and the outdoor areas were fantastic for relaxing and playing. We loved that we were close to many interesting sights. Although we were super-lucky with the weather there was plenty to do at the cottage including a TV complete with Netflix. We also finished a jigsaw! A Good all-round family home from home.

Great location, great stay

This cottage was perfect for 4 adults and one toddler. We were near Portree, so easy to pick up groceries from there. We enjoy rock climbing, hill walking and biking and we were able to do all three. The Cuillin being about an hour away and Raasay for a cycle (the ferry was easy to drive to), we also cycled from the front door as well. Mairi was really helpful on the email, so all in all a great holiday was had. Thank you

Wonderful

It's hard to find a really perfect holiday property, but this might be it! We had such a great time. Our holiday happened as the Covid lockdown was starting to be eased, and the managers had gone to great lengths to ensure the property was thoroughly cleaned and safe. The house was very comfortable and well-equipped. Wifi speeds were good, which isn't always the case in remote locations. Great location, with views of hills and white cottages, near Portree, and most of the "top attractions" of Skye nearby, on the Trotternish peninsula. Skye is of course a fantastic island to visit. Highly recommended.
