Booked in for an evening meal. After 1hour and a half of waiting in an empty restaurant we got our food and mine was cold . Sent it back so didn't have anything to eat.
Staff were very friendly and helpful and food was delicious. Room was very comfortable but they are all soon going to get a major upgrade as hotel has just been bought and a large sum of money is going to be spent on the hotel.

Free parking friendly staff nice clean room and nice breakfast. The only issue with room 20 was the bed base was broken and supported with old mattress underneath. The main mattress was worn out and springs were digging into my body couldn't sleep The mattress needs to be thrown in the skip or tip. Health and safety issues and the lift wasn't working. Informed the staff they said sorry the whole hotel needs refurbishment soon. They shouldn't be renting out the rooms in the current condition and charging customers full payment no notice on AA approved hotel that work will be carried out and no apologise to customers. I'm sorry to say will not return back they hotel needs to be closed down immediately for full reburishment work. I was so tired and late for work due to lack of sleep in bedroom 20. Hope reception staff mean that they will get work done mangenent so no more customers complaints start to come in.
Would have been great but went downhill during my stay. I had a very pleasant check in, followed by a pleasant dinner, the mattress was obviously old with springs trying to escape in various places. Dinner on Monday was mediocre with very oily overcooked fish and chips and tasteless mushy peas. Breakfast on Tuesday was not to the same standard as Monday, but passable. Dinner on Tuesday was a farce. The least customer friendly lad on the bar just couldn't be bothered. Most of the menu was unavailable, as was any staff to get a drink. Apparently the chef had left. Kitchen and bar were both closed on Wednesday and I didn't even bother on Thursday so I don't know. It is a shame because it is a nice place, but appears to be having some issues.

It wasn’t busy in the restaurant on Sat eve, but we waited 45 minutes for 2 mains.
Our split level expensive room has so many little niggles.
Knobs pulling off from wardrobe, Shower door not closing correctly, just needs some t.l.c. And a bit of a freshen up.
But facilities in room are exceptional, 3 tvs including 1 in lavish bathroom. Can’t figure sound system out.
Really nice hotel with great staff. Kaitlin on reception found us a room with an accessible shower even though we hadn’t booked one, and when we had an issue with the heating she sorted it. A real credit to the business
Lovely overnight stay. Used as a base to explore the surrounding areas. Was a bit concerned when we read that a lot of staff had walked out upon sale of the property (some sort of protest I guess).
However, the staff we encountered were delightful and extremely conscientious. Special thanks to Caitlin and Adele, I hope your new employer's appreciate you.
Breakfast was delicious.
The rooms maybe a little tired but were spotless and very comfortable.
Thanks again, we will certainly return.
