The location was great! The views from the many decks of the water were breathtaking. The sunrises were spectacular, we had everything we needed as far as the house goes. The fire pit was nice. First time in Maine. Would be hard to beat this property
The house was very nice and in a quiet area. The view was wonderful, right on the ocean. We left our door open at night to listen to the ocean. Susan will not communicate through VRBO so when she sent an email (from Simply Rentals USA), I didnât recognize it, so I deleted it. We arrived on a rainy evening and we didnât have the code to get in so I checked my VRBO app and there was nothing there. I called and had to leave a message. She called back about 20 min later and said she sent the info to my email and gave me the code. She seemed upset that I didnât play the game by her rules. The next day, I messaged and asked where I could find Kleenex and bath soap/wash. She answered me that there is shampoo in the shower and that is what I can use for bath soap. Sorry but shampoo is not bath soap as it leaves a film on your body. I had to provide my own bath soap. I was told that they donât provide Kleenex. The bed has cheap microfiber sheets that are not comfortable because they are hot to sleep in even if it is cool in the room. I donât like them.I am used to communicating through the VRBO app because it is very easy to find information concerning your stay.
What a fantastic place to stay that is quiet and out of the hustle of Bar Harbor! The house is very well appointed, with several spaces to spread out if you have more people. The kitchen is well stocked with pots large enough to cook a lobster, and there is even a second fridge in the laundry room. The decks look right out on the ocean. You can hear the waves crashing all night. The night sky is full of stars and you can even see the Milky Way. There is a library with a variety of books, games and puzzles if the weather isnt cooperative.Don't miss going to the Schoodic Point, particularly if you can watch high tide come in.The property manager was quick to answer any questions and there is a basket full of information about Acadia, local shops and places to visit. It was hard to leave such a wonderful place.
The house was terrific. The ocean views were outstanding, and the space was perfect. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked. We couldn't have asked for a better stay, and would definitely rent the house again!
Overall, our stay was good. Weather did not cooperate. Property was nice. The upstairs master bedroom could use a king size bed instead of a fold up bed. The basement bedroom and porch need work. There should be actual heat, not a space heater. Very musty smelling in the basement.
Nice cottage in tranquil setting made this an ideal getaway. The kitchen was well-stocked with necessary settings and utensils. I enjoyed both the library room and the outside decks. The drive to Acadia NP (main area) and Bar Harbor was not right around the corner but were easy rides through the countryside.
Overall enjoyed our stay here and the views are amazing. It is not at all near a âtouristyâ area so be prepared to drive for sites and Bar Harbor/Acadia access. The house is older and definitely in need of some maintenance and repair around doors and windows. We were disappointed there was no direct beach access too. Also there is no king bed as stated in the description, only three queens. The tap water and ice taste terrible so bring bottled water! This would be a perfect place for a quiet vacation and visit to Maine and we did find some good local restaurants that were cute with great food and service,
Beautiful setting, house is roomy and clean, such fabulous views! I fell asleep and woke up to the sound of waves, my favorite! The property is a bit off the beaten path but everything is easy to get to as long as you donât mind driving a bit. The property manager was super responsive! Overall great stay, thank you!
Perfect spot for our family of four. The property had everything we needed for a relaxing week away. We made the trip to Bar Harbor to shop and hike Acadia trails. There were also a few amazing restaurants just a quick drive away (highly recommend The Treehouse Seaside Grill in Winter Harbor). After a day of exploring we took advantage of the many board game available then were lulled to sleep by the soothing sounds of ocean waves.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property! I do not believe the pictures do it justice!
As a sidenote, everyone fell in love with the shower on the main floor! We had to fight over who got to take a shower there. The water pressure was amazing.
The location was a little away from Bar Harbor and the main Acadia national Park, but thatâs what we strive for. There was no traffic going to the park, but it was a solid 45 to 50 minute drive.
We do plan on returning!
Visited in late June with our family and absolutely loved our stay. The property is beautiful and quiet - we loved having the windows open all night and enjoying the fresh air and sounds of the ocean. All bedrooms and bathrooms were well appointed, clean, and comfortable! The kitchen is incredibly well stocked and we made use with big family dinners on the patio. Loved the grill + fire pit as well. The surrounding area is very quiet - but we took a quick + easy hour drive to visit Bar Harbor and Acadia a few times as well. Schoodic Point is minutes away. The host was very communicative. All around we highly recommend! Bring a book, some games, and prepare to relax in a beautiful setting.
