The views from this home cannot be beat. There is an iconic tree right in front and gets a bunch of traffic all day long from people admiring the views. We would definitely stay here again!
Overall decent place. The dirt road is directly in front of the house so with traffic and dust blowing up doesnât make the pool as enjoyable as we would have wanted it. Requires a deep clean in the kitchen to keep the bugs away. Itâs quite the trek up the hill and recommend a 4x4 especially if rain is in the forecast.
The location of this house is wonderful â it is high up in the mountains and offers a spectacular view of Playa Carrillo. Although the view is fantastic it is interrupted by a steady flow of traffic on the dirt road in front of the house which covers the area and pool in a lot of dust. The tree in the pictures is directly across the road and is a popular spot for people to stop so definitely NOT the quiet retreat we were looking for. We arrived at 4pm to find the house wasnât ready yet as the maid didnât show up so the owner was doing his best to clean up â but other than a quick surface clean, it was clear to us that it hadnât been properly cleaned in quite some time and was in need of repair. We found wet towels & dirty sheets on the laundry room floor, several burnt out lightbulbs, no dishtowels or hand towels in the bathroom, no hot water or sink stopper to properly wash dishes, broken sunshade in master bedroom, broken microwave, termite mounds throughout the house, no broom/dustpan. There is only one dim light in the kitchen to light the entire main floor. No table or chairs to sit on outside and enjoy the view or have a coffee. Only lounge chairs which may have worked if they had a side table to put a drink on. The concrete table on the side of the house is unsafe and uninviting. Charcoal BBQ with no charcoal and no bbq utensils. The nightly rental price is far too high considering the poor condition of the house and property.
We stayed for four nights and it was very hard to leave! The views from the house are stunning and the pool is great. The drive up the gravel road to the house is steep but not bad once you get used to it. Carrillo beach at the bottom of the hill is amazing for swimming and chilling and if you want more action Samara is about a ten minute drive up the coast. Roberto was great. Gave us some good restaurant recommendations and really helped us out by delivering some charcoal for the grill just after check in. This place was perfect for two couples and we would definitely return.
This house location is excellent, comfortable for families. Had great time in the mornings at the pool followed by beach afternoons. Close to all amenities. House comes with everything you need.
