Strike 1-We were told we had to pay cash on our last night. We were told to pay $500 more than booking price. We were told to go to bank or atm. This wasnt optional. No card would be accepted.
Strike 2- That last night, we woke up to a full blown ant or bug invasion after midnight. Floors, walls, pillows, couches. Everything crawling with bugs. No staff to reach anywhere in sight. No car to leave or anywhere to go. Owner dismissed the ordeal next day. Literally looked away & said nothing at all! I have videos& photos. I can handle a few bugs here & there, not an invasion. It was gross. We didn't have food out etc.
Strike3- After disclosure of bug situation, we were told we needed to pay $75for breakfast for the week. The booking showed breakfast was included. We argued this. They insisted we must pay it in cash immediately. A guy in our group handed him $80. No change was given back. No receipt for it. The guy put it in his pocket& sat down to continue his breakfast dismissing us.
To end this way really was so disappointing. Ill never go back after being treated this way. Idk how its legal to force guests to pay in cash at a legit lodge. Trying to avoid the government fees& stuff is what that looks like.
Not welcoming. Waited an hour for reception to appear. Dining only available for breakfast. The whole area appears run down.
We left the property after 2 days, we booked for 4 nights. The Owner did agree to refund 1 night.
Accommodation was simple and there was no room service. However the view and gardens were stunning with large shady trees and itâs right on the beach. Swimming good- just need to walk out a bit at low tide. Quiet with good privacy and great restaurant a short stroll down the beach.Birds were amazing, monkeys every day, sloths, crocodiles across the road. Jetty for tours within walking distance. Hosts delightful.
The location was great for being beachfront. But not all units that say "Oceanview" really have one. We only stayed one night and was in a Classic Chalet, Multiple Beds, Ocean View. But it was in the back of the property with no view unless you walk out of the unit.
Beautiful location. Extremely gracious host, we had gotten lost and arrived well past closing check in time but they still opened up the lodge for us. Some minor upgrades to the lodge itself would be good, like having all the outlets work, as well as some outlets in the bathroom, and curtains on the windows in the loft. Other than that everything was comfortable!
The bungalow is large with comfortable bed and a functional AC. It is a great value for money. The owner helped us with being flexible in our stay date due to an incident that helped us a lot. Thanks
The Corcovado Lodge was clean, well appointed and waterfront with a swimable beach and excellent views of Golfo Dulce. The most outstanding surprise was the friendliness and efficiency of the staff under the leadership of owner Thomas. We will definitely be making our new accommodation destination the Corcovado Lodge in Puerto Jimenez.
Corcovado lodge was one of the most amazing place we have ever been to and we travel a lot !
The ownerâs hospitality, the small quiet place that had so much privacy and tranquility and the location on this nearly private beach had us feel that we are on our own island even though itâs part of a small beach town.
The lovely sandy beach and all the wildlife around were all bonus. We will definitely come again.
Donât forget to ask for a boat tour to see dolphins and for some snorkeling.
