We had a great stay at Playa Bonita this place has the best patio to watch the sunsets. It was spacious and comfortable. It has really great potential however the bathrooms really need a renovation. Water pressure and shower system was not great and fowl smell from one sink and floors were old and moldy. Kitchen was pretty well equipped but needs more forks only 2-3 in the unit. They gave lots of towels which was nice. I didnât see a blow dryer and it would have be nice to have shampoo and conditioner and paper towel. The staff were very friendly and super helpful! We would stay again but hopefully bathrooms will be updated!
Large condo with a beautiful view. The pool was perfect. In the gay area of town - lots of music from clubs nextdoor, but not in the building. Everyone was helpful at the site. We only stayed two nights and ate out, but the kitchen would have been great if we had a chance to cook more. The cleaning product smell was strong when we arrived so needed to air out a bit. The only reason I would hesitate to return is the extremely hard mattress- which i normally prefer. Could use a pillow top. If you want to be close to the beach and the nightlife with plenty of space, this is a great condo!
Great location! This unit is located on the fifth floor with a spectacular ocean view. The bathrooms are a bit dated but everything else was decent and had all we needed for our family of three. The unit has a raised eating bar, and full kitchen. There is a patio that has a table and three chairs and there is spacious. The pool is a good size and clean with a view of the ocean. The beach is steps away and the building has its own roped off section of beach complete with beach chairs and palapas. There is a bar/ restaurant (Blue chair resort) directly beside the section of beach and we were offered food and beverage service. The area doesnât have a large grocery store but itâs sufficient complete with already chopped up fruits and pico de gallo for purchase. Booze can be purchased just about everywhere in the area. There are ample restaurants and bars as well as the Malecon within walking distance. If youâre a light sleeper and like to turn in early you may be bothered by the music from the blue chair resort or the crashing waves. We would definitely stay in this building again.
The showers were difficult to work and the doors didnât shut properly. Otherwise this was a beautiful place to stay in a great location. The ocean view was amazing and The staff were very kind.
Playa Bonita was a wonderful place to stay. A shout out to Moises at the front desk. He was so personable, always greeted us by name, and was full of information.
The location was great in the romantic zone. We felt very safe walking to all the local shops and amazing restaurants. Over looking the ocean was a huge bonus!
The view from our 5th floor balcony was awesome and sunsets were beautiful. The guys at the front desk, Moses and Miguel were more than helpful and super friendly. The only drawback (inconvenience) was both TV in the condo would stop functioning at regular intervals and couldn't switch to English language. The resort sent a couple of maintenance guys as opposed to TV repair guys who were VERY limited in speaking and understanding English. Nothing was done and whole 1st half of that day was wasted. The resort did offer to come back the next day for TV repairs but we declined. Didnt want to waste another half day. No complaints other than that.
Overall, I would stay here again.
What I loved:
The private beach Infront of Playa Bonita was great. It had chairs and umbrellas and virtually no people. That was spectacular.
The Playa Bonita pool area and lounge chairs were also great. Being on the west side they were in the shade in the morning which was great for morning swimming without worrying about sunscreen.
The view from the unit, both patio and master bed were just as pictured.
What was fine:
The kitchen had most amenities needed. The dishwasher wasn't fastened in so it fell forward anytime the door was opened. I tried to get maintenance to fix it but they just wedged it in place so that didn't last long. We ended up just hand washing everything.
The bathrooms were usable but old and gross with a low shower head (~6ft). Had to call maintenance to fix a toilet that wouldn't flush. I had to wait in the unit for a few hours to get someone and they "fixed" it so that it ran constantly.
Beds/linens ext all provided.
Drinking water wasn't provided but building security sells 20Liters (~6gal) for 45peso
What I didn't like:
The unit was dirty. The originally (as determined by looking under furniture) white grout lines were black. There was popcorn under furniture.
The patio chairs didn't match the letting photos and didn't have padding, so got uncomfortable when sitting and reading on the patio.
The patio railing spindles were too far apart allowing my 2yr sons head through.
This beautiful, welcoming home was perfect for our family of 4. The views were exceptional and we took advantage of the pool and private beach. The location was ideal, nestled on a cobblestone street in walking distance to all of the romantic district restaurants and shops. This area of PV has so much charm and character-we were so glad we got to experience Mexican culture instead of being closed off at a resort. Itâs incredibly safe to walk around. The front desk staff were friendly and made us feel welcomed. The only point to note is that itâs located in between gay clubs and resorts so the majority of people around are gay men, not a whole lot of other kids or kids activities around. However we loved making friends with our friendly neighbors and highly recommend this spot!
The balcony with the view was marvellous.
The fact that the pool was closed and it was not mentioned on Expedia when I made the reservation was deceiving. Also, the air conditioning was not working on the first night of 2. Staff at Playa Bonita was very kind. The rental agency help compensate for the unexpected inconvenience. I still recommend this beautiful place.
The property was close to the beach and had it own designated area with chairs and tables available, so we saw no need to rent any while we were on the beach. The staff was friendly and super helpful. The room needs some maintenance, but it isnât in shambles. Just looks a little dated. Overall the location was great and I would stay here again.
We loved our stay at playa Bonita! Moises was especially thoughtful and helpful. Pool loungers need to be replaced but it didnât stop me from enjoying the beautiful pool and meeting people!
This is a wonderful beach-front property. The view from our balcony was the best I've ever had in all my trips to PV. The front desk staff was warm and welcoming. A special shout-out to Emmanuel for his friendly demeanor and helpfulness during our stay.
All in all an excellent property to soak in the views of Playa Los Muertos and the entire bay.
