It was an ok hotel. I didnt like that the other pool was not available to regular guests. There was a lot of kids and people blocking the stairs to get in the pool. The Italian restaurant was ok, as well as all the other none reserved restaurant. The room had a lot of patch repaired on the wall, the lights work weird in the room. You had to turn on all the lights in the room to be able to turn on the tv and restroom lights on which is just plain dumb. If someone in the room was alseep I had to turn on all the lights to turn the restroom light on and I would wake them up. The shower is all glass setup and I didnt find out about the sliding door to cover it until the day after. The staff was the best part of the stay, they were nice and helpful. Will I stay there again for the price I paid no, only if the price is lower.

This was the second time at ONV for my wife and I. We love the people and the property! The staff make this place shine. The guys at the pool bar, Hamid, Aldo, Ramses and Jesus knock it out of the park! Eva, Vincent’s and Dave keep it active and fun.

This is a smaller all inclusive, no swim up bar and limited activities however, the service was fantastic and the hotel was in reasonably good condition. Food is average for a 4 star in Mexico, I would caution teens will be looking for more activities than can be found here, great place for couples.

Night entertainment is too loud and all rooms get the noise because the stage is outside center. Only one pool so if there is a loud party then you are stuck. 2 times a person committed in the pool and nothing was done. Food was good

Nice property and clean. Food was really good - especially Mexican night at the buffet. Pool was small and a lot of seat hoggers will come down at 6am to put their towels and take up the seats by the pool all day and leave for hours at a time. Other than that everything was great

We had an excellent stay at the Occidental. The beach is amazing and beautiful. You can have sun, or shade under the palm trees, and listen to the waves. We were really impressed by the dining selections. Beach walking for miles. We stayed 10 days and loved it.

Second time at the resort and it didn’t disappoint. All the resort staff are exceptional and have made both of our stays exemplary, 5 stars to all the staff! The Royal level rooms and services are the way to go from the exclusive restaurant, able to make all our dinner reservations in advance, to Royal pool and Cabana area and bar but was disappointed that the Royal restaurant was not open for lunch and was one of our favourite features of the Royal level of rooms on our first visit in 2023. Overall 5 Stars and hopefully on our next visit the Royal restaurant will open for lunch.

As VIP there was an error made and we got to reserve dinner 3 times instead of the one time. The drinks (bar tenders) amazing! Property gorgeous! The entertainment needs more spicing up for sure but that’s the only think I did not like!

We have been to a dozen all inclusive properties in Mexico. Mixed review on this one. Pros: Not too crowded. Generally older guests and some families, very little spring breakers. Not noisy. Fresh guac. and good fruits Tokyo and Mexican restaurant are good. Pickle ball court was available most of the time Right on the beach Cons: False advertising: they say there are 5 restaurants but there are really only 3. The Royal Restaurant is off limits to all inclusive guests. They also close one of the other restaurants every night to cycle it through the buffet (Le Buffet). They also tried to tell us we only get one restaurant meal for every 2 night stay. We had to argue with them on this for them to allow us to have one reservation per night. All other meals and all breakfasts are through the buffet. But the buffet was generally good. Very hard to book restaurants. You can't call for reservations. You have to visit the concierge who is often busy or isn't there. You also can't book more than 1-2 nights in advance. Also, lots of their time slots are late like 9pm for dinner. It seems like they purposely make it difficult to eat dinner at the restaurants even though when you are there they are not crowded. Same brand of wine: one red, one white in all places all week. Not so good. Gym is extremely minimal. Overall I got the impression they were constantly looking for ways to skim and cut costs.

Fantastic hotel. Staff at the Occidental were outstanding.. Its a smaller resort, lots of food options. This is definitely a hotel I will return to next year.

The Occidental Nuevo Vallarta is a smaller resort with a wonderful staff. Every staff member met you with a smile, many of them asking your name and introducing themselves which made it a very comfortable atmosphere. It's an older facility, but kept very clean. The basic rooms don't have balconies, which we missed somewhat, but they are comfortable and have what you need. We did not feel the need to upgrade to the Royal level, since all of the balcony rooms were sold out, and we still had a wonderful time. The food was good and we were always able to find something to eat. We only ate at the specialty restaurant (the Japanese) one time and the food and presentation were great. The beach is awesome and the sunsets spectacular. Thank you to the staff for making our vacation special.
