The room was amazing as we stayed in the Raphael! Jerry, Itzel, Sonia and Manuel the bartender were fantastic and gracious hosts as we got a full tour of most of the rooms (some were occupied and couldn't be viewed). They are undergoing a remodel right now but it didnt bother us as there is plenty to do and see during the day in the Romantic Zone and even in downtown Puerto Vallarta. The restaurant in hotel is very good food and its a 1 minute walk right out to the beach! For authentic mexican feel, this Hotel is it! If the construction bothers you then book in January when they are complete, we will definitely be staying here again and cant wait to see the finished product!

The hotel was charming. But they did not disclose that they were renovating an additional area and the trip was married by construction noise every day until 6pm. Abs Mt that, it was a wonderful place to stay.

Property was amazing. Better than the photos. Each room was unique, charming and lovely. The grounds, the beach, the pools, the all over atmosphere was inviting, relaxing and a perfect vacation spot. Each and every staff encounter was warm, friendly and very accommodating. We did not want to leave and will come back.

Our stay was beyond what we expected. Great location with old Mexican charm. The staff was always present, available, smiling. Felt like family yet intimately warm with privacy and personal touches. My biggest complaint would be the sound of the waves and sleeping with the windows open, lol!!! Thank you!!!

We absolutely loved staying at this amazing property. Everyone was helpful and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The maintenance guy was amazing, so sorry I didn't get his name. We had a hot water issue and he resolved it quickly and checked in with us. Getting chairs and an umbrella at the beach wasn't always accessible. My suggestion would be to set up three areas every morning knowing your guests will use them without having to request that service.

This property is quaint and unique. We had a wonderful stay. Service is exceptional and it’s a great boutique property. Expect to walk stairs and facilities are not ultra modern. Small beach, rocky shore, relaxing atmosphere….

The service alone is with the rating. Communicative and clear. Easy check in and check out. The building is a set of built up levels, about 6, from beach at the bottom to quiet back street at the top, with authentic charm and eclectic styling in each room. Getting between the floors can feel like a bit of an adventure designed by MC Escher, but you catch on quickly to the layout. The restaurant is very expensive, however the quality of the food clearly showed a world class cheff and staff in the kitchen. So far, it's my favourite space I've stayed in PV. It may be yours too.

Good hotel, super dark standard room

We booked the “standard king” because it was the only room available and the description included “partial sea view”. There was no sea view at all. Darkest hotel room we have ever experienced. Sliding glass patio doors simply look into an inner courtyard. You cannot possibly see the sea from the room. False advertising. If the description had not indicated partial sea view we would not have booked this. We complained but the hotel would not do anything about it. Submitted official complaint through hotels.com but they could not do anything about it. We left the hotel and found a better place to stay to avoid ruining our vacation. Lost all the money on the Quinta Maria Cortez. The rest of the hotel seemed decent enough, quirky, right in a quaint beach. Those two “standard” rooms are just awful though, and they should be honest in the hotels.com listing that there not a partial sea view.
