Wonderful Stay!

Another wonderful vacation in Punta Cana. This is the 3rd time we travel with Anders and his team, and they never disappoint. The service and attention to details is always there. The villa is completely renovated and lives up to every expectation. Stig our villa manager takes soooo good care of us. We can't wait to come back. HIGHLY recommended!

A lovely stay

The house and grounds are impeccably maintained, with pool and maid service daily. Inside the house, the furniture and beds are really comfortable, and the artistic touches a joy. We especially loved sitting out by the pool...whether day or night. With different locations for eating or talking, there was no tiring of the surrounds over time. The golf cart transportation is really fun, even if it's just wandering the neighborhoods to enjoy the architecture. Peter the owner really took care that we had a good time. I hope we can return...

Property and neighborhood are quite lovely, staff is freindly, warm and accomodating to requests, though we had very few. So, we lived the experience my only concern is cost. It was extremely expensivfor food, drinks etc and the VBRO charge for a one week stay service charge of almost 900 pounds which is hidden was a form of robbery!

Love punta cana

Everything was as advertised; great place to stay and wonderful beaches and area. Love getting around by golf cart. No rental car is necessary.

The property is wonderful. It is outfitted with everything one would want.

The house is a home of the owner, and it is outfitted with everything one could ask for. Peter is very solicitous of his guests and makes sure to fulfill all wants. The kitchen has every pot, pan, utensil and dishes and glasses one could want; there are TVs in every bedroom And the living room; towels are luxurious and plentiful; there is a nice amenity kit in each bathroom; and the pool area is a delight, with plenty of chairs, lounges, tables, Daisy comes every day to Clean and replace soiled towels and linens. The house is completely air conditioned and ceiling fans everywhere. The only criticism is that the house backs on a main road and there is traffic noise from time to time.

Perfect for families

I’m trying to think of something I would change about this home and our visit, and I can’t think of a thing. This was the perfect place to reunite as a family, enjoy good food, swim, play games, etc. the kitchen is stocked with everything you’d ever need. The beds are comfortable and covered in hotel linens. The golf carts are perfect for running around the area. And the pool and deck area serve as the perfect gathering spot. The concierge service set us up with groceries, catered meals, and made reservations at local restaurants. They also arranged a couple excursions for us. We loved the entire week, and although it’s difficult to send the kids back to their different cities and states, I am so grateful for the time we had together in the Dominican Republic.

Great vacation house!

What a great week! Peter and Jose thought of everything! They arranged our airport transfer and they were at the house to greet us upon our arrival. They took the time to show us around Tortuga Bay. They had stocked the refrigerator with enough food to get us through the first day and everything in the house was perfect. Throughout the week they were a phone call or text away for any questions we had. Peter’s suggestions for restaurants and a day excursion were excellent and he was very helpful making the arrangements. The beach, golf course, and tennis courts were just a short golf cart ride away and the lagoon is a must see! The outdoor space was private, lush and a true tropical oasis. We enjoyed grilling by the pool and eating outside by the pool. The house was very well appointed and very comfortable. Thanks for a great week!

Fantastic from start to finish

We have been to Punta Cana several times and stayed in various locations. The house was perfectly situated in Tortuga and easy to get everywhere either walking or using the golf carts. Jose and Peter we’re not only an incredible host and manager but soon became good friends that I will continue to stay in touch with. The house was impeccable, clean and always peaceful. We highly recommend you consider staying here for your next vacation.

Wonderful home and hosts

Great house in the Punta Cana development. Easy walk or golf cart ride to the clay tennis courts, gym, beaches, golf pro shop, spa etc. The house is well located but still feels secluded. Take advantage of having the housekeeper prepare a traditional Dominican meal for dinner - the small extra charge is worth it as it was the best of many great meals we had in the area. The nearby Punta Cana Village (and soon to open Blue Mall) mean that you do not have to go far for supplies, other good dining options, etc. One last word about the owners - Jose went far beyond what we see at other VRBO properties to make us comfortable and make sure we had a great stay. He even made a special trip (unrequested) to the airport as we left to reunite us with a piece of jewelry we left behind. We will definitely go back.

Had a great week!

Loved the property with all its accommodations! The home had everything We needed....internet, flat screen TV's with cable in every room, hot water, blow dryers in each bathroom and A/C even in the family room, among other things! Everything was so peaceful. The backyard felt like heaven with the pool and lovely terrace full of trees and beautiful flowers; hammocks and lounge chairs. The owners also provided an employee who kept everything at its best during my stay. I also had free access to the Beach which was less than 5 minutes away. W would do it again in a flash!

wonderful experience! (part I)

I apologize for having taken so long to write a review for it merits a good one! We had a very lovely stay at Villa Careta. Jose and Peter are so very warm and welcoming and also organized and professional: all great attributes for hosts of a rental property. Taking care of the “paperwork” for the rental was straightforward and trouble-free. They took care of our airport transfer and the golf cart rental prior to our arrival and then personally met us and showed us the property and environs when we got to Tortuga Bay in Punta Cana. We felt so welcomed by their hospitality and their attention to the details: fridge stocked with the next morning’s breakfast, fresh fruit, Dominican coffee and tasty rum. They even thoughtfully gave a gift of sand toys to our two young children to have fun on the beach. The house and outdoor poolside were elegant in a casual, relaxing way and we were want for nothing with it being so well equipped. We travelled as a group of 3 adults and 2 young children and there was plenty of space to relax and enjoy the attractively appointed rooms. They also kindly helped us arrange for a cook to come a few times during our stay. When we were there (Dec 2013), the Punta Cana Resort was in a process of transition and many of the amenities and features of the area were unavailable or in a state of flux. Jose and Peter made themselves available to help us muddle through trying to arrange things with the inexperienced new resort staff and affiliated companies which was going above and beyond for the sake of their guests. Staying at Villa Careta is very relaxing and low-key—definitely suited for those who want to get away from the busy resort environment but still prefer the enclave of a secluded resort. It is most suitable for those who are happy to arrange their own activities and dining and those who truly enjoy mellow relaxing. We found that the best way to make reservations, whether for activities or dining in the area, was to do the arrangements in person. We enjoyed going to the Ojos Indigenos Eco Park, going on a motor boat trip (unfortunately sailing, which we would have preferred, was no longer an option at the time), checking out the Punta Cana village while we went grocery shopping, having a spa treatment at Six Senses, and of course lazing around and playing at the several beaches in the area. It would have been most ideal to rent a car for the week but we managed just fine without one.

Villa Careta

My husband and I and our four teenage children had a fantastic Christmas vacation in the lovely Villa Careta in Punta Cana Resort. It truly was the perfect fit for our family! When we arrived, we were welcomed by the owners who gave us a tour of their beautiful home. They gave the kids a quick golf cart operating lesson and guided them to a resort restaurant. The owners were so friendly and helpful and just a phone call away if you have any questions! The terrace overlooking pool is the perfect place for dining. We began each morning there for breakfast and chose to stay home and grill on the gas BBQ several evenings. The kitchen is large and well equipped and made it easy to prepare many dinners at home. The pool and surrounding areas are so peaceful and beautifully landscaped. There are numerous choices for lounging and reading; the hammocks being a favorite for the teens! The home is so beautiful and comfortable it was hard to motivate the kids to leave for a dinner out. All looked forward to late evening card games back home in the villa! An added bonus is access to the Punta Cana resort, which is a nice walk or a short golf cart ride away. Our family enjoyed the golf, oversized chess, beach volleyball, lagoon hike and swim and Segway tour. We were there at a busy time of year, but the beaches were never crowded and were always plenty of available lounge chairs to choose from under gorgeous swaying palm trees. I would highly recommend Villa Careta for your stay in the Dominican Republic.

Paradise in the Caribbean

This was probably one of the best vacations I've had. A beautiful and spacious home complete with all the amenities you could ever need. Close proximity to the beach and many outdoor activities. Amazing outdoor living space and plenty of room for outdoor dining. Large pool surrounded by one of the best gardens you've ever seen. If you are looking for a tropical oasis, I would highly recommend that you stay here. I am already looking forward to my next time there.

So close to paradise

Gees, we sure were so close to paradise! When our extended family decided to opt dor something different from the usual 'all inclusive' where we all had to got to the ebach as soon as the kids deciced they wanted a swim at so close to 7 am (on vacation) we all decided that oour own pool wold be the solution! Well, it was! We also had this magnifricient terrace right off the pool terrace (to keep an eye on the kids) where we could read in peace! What marvelous moments! The rooms are clean, spacious and the bathrooms are spotless! We also had a great time cooking our own meals at the times we chose, without needing to dress up like in resorts... Our nice helper came in upon our demand to cook for us on these nice lazy days. The lagoon was a sure hit with the boys who loved swiming in the cristaline waters for the longest time! Finally, we wish to thank the owners who were so nice in guiding us to all the services and nice activities we could enjoy while in Tortuga Bay. What a great time.. As we are back at work, our happy campers always remind us that we are going back next summer! Gees, we sure were so close to paradise!

There is no place like home....now it is!

We came with our closest friends to stay over christmas here in Punta Cana. No way we would ever go into a all inclusive hotel/resort.So perfect solution-rent a confortable house! And i must say, best desicion we have ever made. The house was awesome!Decorated with so many details and so spacious to fit conftable us and our friends.Nice BBQ area that we used a lot, i have to admit!The pool area is a plast nice and clean and perfect to refresh after a long sunny day.The beach was so near that we didnt use our golf cart to get around and just walked.You have easy access to the golf close by and the beach club house. We enjoyed the fresh water lagoon and all the other activities you can find around here like horseback riding or scuba diving. Over all one of our best vacations we have done so far. Would recommend it any time to other friends that are tired of big hotels.This is definitly the better option.And we didn't miss out on anything. In the near by supermarket you find everything you need on daily bases and there are beautiful restaurants close by. With the car you are in 1hour in the next big city to make some sightseeing and local shopping. At last some words to the owners. When we arrived we felt so welcome!They provided us with all the information needed so we could start our vacation right away. Everything we asked upfront was provided to us and i can say that all of us where positivly surprised once we arrived.The house is even better than you would imagen from the discribtion.So guys- We will be back!!!
