I wanted to like it. Its near alot of tourist stuff. Lots of restaurants around. The idea of a "victorian style no elevator" hotel appealled to me. BUT...the no elevator is worse than you think. Door code wasnt working when I got there at 11pm, however it was resolved quickly. Hotel is so dark, bath tub didnt have the clog / plug, coffee machine wasnt working. I discovered that I actually like a hilton or holiday inn. The downtown abbey, victorian style is not for me. Otherwise...room was clean and I felt safe.

Good experience

It was a pretty good experience. The room was beautiful with antique furniture. The location of the hotel was perfect - centrally located to everything. The only drawback was there never seemed to be any staff at the front desk ever, even though they said staff would be there like from 11 am to 1pm. They were fairly responsive via the phone I will add. When we arrived our access code didn't work. When I called they re-assigned a new code within two minutes. We needed help with our room safe when we arrived but no one showed up for about 90 mins after telling us someone would be there in 20 mins. We would still stay there again though, because the positives made up for the negatives. Parking at the property is limited, so you need to request/reserve a parking spot ahead of time.

We loved every moment we spent in and out of the hotel in Quebec city. Management was always prompt to respond to our questions and find solutions to our minor problems. The decoration of the room was awesome, and we felt quite like home. We loved the French old style the hotel room had, and we would love to visit again.

The Hotel is quite nice, very convenient to dining and transportation. Although the hotel has no front desk or elevators it was not too difficult for us. The web site was very specific on details. The hotel relied on texting, the responses were quick and informative. We had a 1st floor room and it was spacious and comfortable. The custodial staff were very helpful. We wanted to leave our bags there before check-in. We were not sure about leaving them in the lobby, but the staff stated it was fine as there were cameras and code to enter the hotel. I do wish there was a TV cheat sheet as the screens were in French as we tried to find a sports channel.

We had the most wonderful stay here on our recent trip to Quebec City. Not knowing the area well, we booked this hotel in the old city, and the location was even better than we could have hoped for. Walking 2 minutes down the street brought us to the plaza outside of the Fairmont Hotel and the beautiful views of the river. Everything we could have needed was within a short walking distance. The hotel staff was also exceptional- helpful, kind, accommodating, and the room itself was beautiful. When we return to Quebec City, we will book here again!
