Beautiful home that is clean and comfortable. The host was excellent to work with and was so kind and helpful. There are a lot of stairs and was hard on one of our guests but that is just something to be aware of. Highly recommend.
The house was wonderful! Plenty of room, I think the kids used the slide 150 times a day! We also had more wildlife at the house than the National Park itself. Even a sloth paid a visit! The housekeeping was immaculate!
We really enjoyed the property. With older kids, 8-16 yrs, the size of the pool, including depth, and the slide, there was something for everyone. The monkey's came a visited for a good 1-2 hours a couple of times so plenty of wildlife to be seen. The rooms were spacious and provided what we needed. The lay out made sure there was good space and separation as needed among our travelers. Definitely a house I'd like to return to.
House has so much potential
Location to many great restaurants and beaches and the wildlife comes to this house. Better wildlife viewing in the backyard than in the national park. However house needs some TLC. Many tiles falling off of pool, paint chipping , birds or bat dropping in outdoor pool
Bar. Air conditioner in main living area did not work at all. Dishwasher rarely turns on, no ice maker, door knobs fall off, or get stuck and you are now locked inside a bathroom. Pool furniture holding on by a thread. We did not let it stop us from having a great time , location was perfect and the wildlife amazing. Such a house deserves some TLC. Many other housing options in same area to choose from for
Next time we visit .
Overall, we had a great stay at this house. The view from the top deck is unmatched. Location is very convenient to restaurants and Manuel Antonio. The slide and the pool was outstanding and a hit. The daily visits from the monkeys was a huge bonus. The bedroom and bathroom layouts as well as the kitchen and living area is ideal for large groups. Two things to be aware of are the extremely steep driveway which may present a challenge for some. Also, the house did have some maintenance issues and the pictures were not entirely representative of how we found the house. Be prepared for some maintenance issues and some run down aspects. Overall we would book this house again due to its strong assets.
The location of House of the Rising House was perfect. Sloths, monkey, toucans, and parrots were constant sightings right outside on the balcony. We enjoyed walking to some great restaurants and shops as well.
Carlos and Ricky were responsive and helpful every step.
The downfall was the house needs a lot of upkeep and love. Many things were not working or needed to be replaced (outdoor stove, lights, etc). That said, the beds were comfortable, the ACs were cold and the space is great. Its just sad to see such a beautiful property in need of tlc.
Overall the house was exactly as advertised. PROS: Plenty of space for our 2 families staying together. Many areas indoors and outdoors to relax and chill. Various monkey species visited daily as well as many birds. Comfy beds and bedrooms were very spacious with lots of storage space. Nice to have the pool and âcool tubâ (hot tub with cold water). Slide was enjoyed by all, but it is fast and furious! Beautiful view from every level with amazing balconies. Grill area was outstanding! Very close to most everything in Manuel Antonio. Ricky was amazingly attentive to all our needs with immediate responses and suggestions.
CONS: pool furniture very worn. Pool needs some attention. Refrigerator in main kitchen needs replacing- Shelves missing or broken. Must park on the street above the house and go up/down very steep driveway. Not a problem for us, but in case you have elderly, bad knees/back or have to carry many bags in and out⊠no bueno! Animals/rodents in the ceiling in the kitchen. Could hear them running around, but never saw anything. Not being able to flush toilet paper was a little shocking, especially for 11 of us, but we worked out a plan. Spoiled American problems đ
Overall- would rent again as the house is very comfy and was wonderful for multiple families! Get up early and enjoy each moment!
Rising Sun is tucked down a quiet street in Manuel Antonio. Five couples enjoyed the property. There was plenty of space, a beautiful pool, many balconies, and a lovely outdoor kitchen and entertaining area. This was our first trip to Costa Rica. This house was much more than just a place to store our stuff and sleep between daily excursions. The house itself was very enjoyable with the beautiful gathering areas. There were monkeys, toucan, sloth, and lizards to see on the grounds and in the trees all around the house. The beds were comfortable. The towels were fluffy and soft. The cooking and eating areas were well stocked. A bus stop was a six minute walk up the street. Also, on that street was a market, restaurants, shops. The bus is easy to catch and can take you into Quepos. To the marina area. To Manuel Antonio Park and some of the beaches. We had a great time.
We had a great time at this home. We loved the home, pool witg the slide and of course the monkeys daily. Will be returning for sure. Ricky our host was Awesome!!
Massive house with amazing views! Love that pool was tree top height so monkeys and sloths were right next to us. Huge kitchen and also outdoor kitchen as well. Pool and slide are super fun. Location is terrific. Things to note: lots of starts because like all houses in the area it is built into the cliff. Housekeeper came daily and did a great job. Chef Choco is a MUST - fun guy and amazing food! Ricky the house manager is a nice guy and can get you whatever you need including a great hookup to Ricardo at the local beach which is amazing. Only small things as cons- a few older pool tiles missing and older fixtures in bathrooms. Not a big deal at all but if that would bother you then you should know. Also the hot tub does not work. But again, the view and layout are unbeatable for a large group and we loved Casa rising Sun!
