Overall the staff was amazing! Though the "menu" is very limited the young man that cooks is amazing. I believe it is Dylan's brother. The room 6A was a very minimalistic unit and had a slight damp smell. I am not sure what the other units are like but it was ok for what we needed. Really easy to walk to the marina (5min) for our fishing trip, but be prepared to walk back up steep hills. We had a little trouble finding the location and had to stop and hope that someone knew the place. Associate it with Coconut Restaurant and you will find it easier. The bar/pool/restaurant area has a great vibe and the drinks where amazing! We would stay again and check the rest of the area. I would have to say that I never received any info back on inquiries through VRBO and have found that most places here communicate better through WhatsApp. I know that VRBO usually wants to have you go through them to monitor, but in this case of WhatsApp is the way to go and VRBO has to realize this.
Property grounds are beautiful. Host and staff are very nice. Room 6A was not ready or sufficiently supplied to any basic standards. The local beach is not acceptable for swimming which to us was a disappointment. On a high note did see Macaws and monkeys right on the property which was awsome..
This rental turned out to be a VRBO, which is separate from the amenities and housekeeping that the hotel provides. Which I did not know. As far as the grounds and the property and the hotel staff, they were super. The room itself was at ground level or below and was very dark. It said it came with an equipped full kitchen, but it only had one small hot plate. Because we were not part of the hotel technically, daily housekeeping service was not included, which I didnât know until I checked in. I tried communicating with the owner before I got there to get some other details and never heard back from him so communication from him was very poor; although once I got to the hotel, the hotel staff was extremely polite, personable, courteous, and very accommodating.
the photo of the room or little suite was deceptive. the photo had sun streaming through the windows and door. i think i remember it saying the kitchenette was well equipped. neither is true. once i got over that shock, i decided to make the best of it. what is wonderful is the small pool---clean, clear and great to swim in. the staff are kind, competent and knowledgeable about tours, the area and what is feasible to do. i liked them very much. it turned out to be okay, but i would have liked it better if the room was sunny, dry and pleasant.
We had a great time here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They gave us a map of the town and lots of food recommendations. The inside of the rooms felt dated, but the pool/restaurant area was pretty and clean and we were offered drinks while sitting there. All of our tours were able to pick us up from the gate next to the waterfall. There's also tons of trees surrounding the hotel where macaws like to gather. We would have stayed longer but we could only do one day.
I have contacted property owner and could not stay due to their overbooking have contacted them and Verbo regarding refund none has been given at this time.
We love every minute of our stayâŠThe food ,drink, hosts were exceptional.
We had only one issue when entering the room, the smell of mildew was horrible.. the bedding smell so bad . And having, and having a condition with my breading was difficult .
Bot over all it was awesome
This rental was the perfect thing for two people who wanted a functional and clean but relatively minimal stay while adventuring around Quepos. The hotel was super nice, beautiful pool, nice on site meals and bar and friendly staff. The room itself seems to be rented out separately because it is a little smaller and simpler than other rooms and is tucked away at garden level. For a couple who was looking for a safe, comfortable place to crash after spending our days out at the beach or hiking in the jungle it was perfect. It has a nice little private patio and a kitchenette for basic usage as well as a tv. The Wi-Fi only works outside the room but the pool patio is so nice to hang out in it didnât bother us at all. The hotel has a large gate that is closed from 9pm-7am so we felt very secure parking there at night. Would stay again!
I planned a solo getaway in my favorite beach village for my birthday and this property totally exceeded my expectations! I was greeted by friendly staff upon arrival who helped me feel at home right away. The room was much more spacious than the pictures indicated and my stay had so many more amenities than advertised. Staff served a delicious traditional breakfast that is included and helped me plan and book tours and transportation. I will definitely be back with my two young children!
The property is very nice and clean. The staff is very helpful and very friendly. The bed was horrible though. They need to change the mattress for sure, overall it was a great stay.
Great older property that has been maintained well and has an eclectic vibe with the handpainted motif and murals that are literally everywhere. the entire place feels comfortable and relaxing. Restaurants and the marina are within easy walking distance.
Charming is an understatement. I had such a wonderful stay at this beautiful property. It is owned and operated by a great family and you'll love what they done to the place. But i think my favorite part about this place was restaurant they have on site. It is a wonderful place to enjoy the property near the Bar and the Pool, but best of all, it was so great to meet your fellow travellers and make some new friends.
Walking the area is very nice with great views of the marina and ocean when you walk up "the steps." (Just off property). I got winded the first few days, but then it became my workout. Plenty of fun monkeys to watch as they jump from tree to tree and even saw a pair of red macaws. The town is easily accessible and has some great restaurants and shops
I will definetely return to this property and look forward to making new friends.
Cant say enough on the friendly staff. From when we checked in, bartenders (Mauriel made our evenings so much fun) and the owner son even came down and said hello. The drinks, food were great. The room was cozy. This is on our list to come back. The communication was great too.
This was the perfect location hidden in the back of the neighborhood. The room was perfect for us. The sitting area to enjoy my morning coffee. The attendant was helpful figuring out things to do with our short trip. We even got to see the monkey that comes to visit. The walk to the top of the property is a short one that you can see a piece of the bay.
Spent 6 nights at this little gem of a hotel on the edge of Quepos town, right opposite the marina ( just a hill to negotiate!) Family run by Gary & sons who were amazingly friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend a stay here; be ready for the slopes to appreciate the views! Pool, wildlife and service provided were also great. Thank you again, Nigel & Lynn.
We had the pleasure of staying a week at this offering and enjoyed every moment of it. It is private and very easily accessed on the hill overlooking the Quepos marina and beaches. It is located within the grounds of Las Cascadas boutique hotel and parking is on the secure private grounds. The brothers Dylan and Brandon run the place and were wonderful to us and always available to help in any way. They were very helpful to recommend and choose excursions that best fit our hoped for adventures. The place is very clean and insect free. I would highly recommend this place. Fortunately while we were there, it only rained one day for about a half hour, but very hard. This is the place to sit dryly on your covered front patio and enjoy the tropical downpour while surrounded by a tropical forest on a hillside.
