Sweet place. Beautiful home. Private yard with surrounding mountain view. Great kitchen. Close to Quinault Lodge and hiking trails. Thank you for sharing this special gem in the rainforest.
The home was in a beautiful setting, was very clean, and had comfortable beds. We enjoyed our stay. Our one minor issue was not getting a response from the owner about a question, but ultimately our concern was minor and didnât impact our trip (we wated to watch Sunday Night Football and the remote wasnât working). We got to see som elk, and, again, the setting really is beautiful. So quiet and serene. We would stay again.
Tranquil and cozy place in a wonderful location, just off the beautiful Lake Quinault. We felt welcome and privileged to stay here. Our toddler grandson was fascinated by the kids books and toys he found. Many thanks to our hosts for being so thoughtful in every detail and for this opportunity!
The house is spacious and well appointed. The highlight was the Elks arriving at dusk to feed. There were close to 30! The Lake Quinalt area is quiet and not overrun with people.
My family was very happy with our stay at the Elk House. I understand why this location has such high reviews. The home was spotlessly clean, comfortable, attractive, and was in a quiet, relaxing location. I wish that we had seen elk during our stay, but it was still nice to sit on the front porch to enjoy the view. (Be forewarned that the large field surrounding has many slugs lying in the damp grass in the early morning.)There is a master bedroom on the main floor that has a queen bed. There is an open loft upstairs that had a queen bed and a twin day bed. The day bed also had a hideaway bed underneath that could be pulled out for a second twin bed. I had brought pots and pans for cooking which was unnecessary as the kitchen was very well supplied with anything we would need to fix and serve meals. We would love to return to stay at the Elk House again. Thanks!
Wonderful stay with excellent amenities; it was a real treat to be on the property and so close to Lake Quinault. I would have liked the online listing to have included the large chore list (ie starting laundry, stripping the beds of linens, taking out the trash) that needed to be done on the day of departure.
We loved all the hikes that are within 10 minutes from the house in Olympic National Forest. There were a few kid toys for the littles and the kitchen was well equipped. The view of the mountains was lovely and we were visited by black tail deer and an elk herd.
We enjoyed our stay at the Elk House and would come back again. Itâs a great house and such a peaceful area. We didnât see any elk, sadly, but enjoyed spending mornings and evenings on the porch. The WiFi worked great, and we were able to stream on the TV. The house is in a great area - easy drives to Lake Quinault, hiking, and more! The âgrocery storesâ near by are small so if youâre coming from a larger area it may be worth bringing groceries with you. A few things to note for future guests - there is a keurig but no kcups were provided so bring your own; same goes for coffee pot/coffee. We couldnât figure out the air conditioning and there were no instructions to be found; it wasnât that warm so I didnât feel the need to reach out to the hosts about it, but something to note if youâll be going in peak summer time. We hope to visit the area again in the future and would love to stay at Elk House again!
Beautiful stay. Pictures do not do it justice. We loved the property and home and wish we could have stayed one more night. Didnt see any Elk, but that was fine, because we just enjoyed the comfort of the home.
Even nicer than it looked online. Very private, large yard. Very comfortable for two couples.
It would have been nice to have tables or luggage racks in the loft, since we only stayed a few days, we didn't want to unpack, even though there is lots of closet space.
We would stay there again.
