Great little hidden gem between Port Augusta and Quorn. We only stayed one night on our way back to Adelaide and everything else was booked, but to our surprise it was an amazing find. The cabin was clean and tidy, and had everything you need to feel like home. Hamish, the owner, was very welcoming. An added bonus was being able to switch off from devices for one night as phone service was limited.
Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a SA Road Trip - main reason for visit was to explore the Pichi Richi Railway which was excellent- The Park is 13km out of Quorn towards Port Augusta - very comfortable cabin (North Cabin) but no TV or Radio in the unit - this was NOT expected - No Internet access and No Wi Fi either which was annoying - we are with Vodaphone and there was no network coverage - The park has a very remote setting and lack of services made it more so. Tankwater in use is also not plentiful but certainly was sufficient for our needs.
Travelling by car to and from Quorn at night is dicey due to kangaroos - heaps sighted on and close to the road - Comfort and furnishing of the cabin is superb but let down by lack of services - it is normal to assume a TV will be in the room.
We were disturbed during the first night by loud noises outside the bedroom - can only assume it was wild-life but nothing sighted out if window - limited lighting and absolutely pitch black at night - all good second night.
Park is set up for camping and has excellent Camp Kitchen and bush trails - we appreciate some relish in the remoteness and disconnection from mainstream services but a bit too remote for us - I stress that the Cabin was superbly furnished and equipped -
The property is ideally located a short distance to Quorn.
Hamish and Belinda, the owners were delightful to deal with. Nothing was too much trouble. The single bedroom accommodation we chose was beautifully maintained and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and it wanted for nothing. A wonderful location which we highly recommend.
Perfect for a getaway. Very quiet and peaceful in a freshly renovated cabin. Hiking up the mountain (twice) was tough, but a treat. Lucky we had Binky the Kelpie escorting us all the way! My daughter was sad to leave her. No TV or coverage unless youâre with Telstra but I didnât mind that. You can watch TV at home! Really enjoyed the stay and will be back!
For 2 nights we were the only guests and we really loved sitting in the covered lounge area overlooking the valley. A beautiful space and view!
Hamish responded very quickly when I asked whether there was a hair dryer available and provided one. This was appreciated.
Loved the location. Hill at back which I walked up at sunset.
And just a little bit different to a lot of other accommodation. Also the interior was tastefully furnished.
We received good friendly service when we arrived, but later on when I had a query about the TV I couldn't find anyone.
We weren't expecting the track into the property to be dirt, and while everything was clean and tidy, our cabin was old and needs upgrading.
We arrived at the hotel after that we was told there was no booking i showed the tex and email I received and the told me that the 2 rooom had been booked out for months and left us stranded
