This location was perfect for escaping a very hot Texas summer.
Loved the cabin with its wrap around porch right on the river! Such a relaxing place to read, have coffee and watch wildlife. (Chipmunks, birds, and one elk during our stay)
The cabin is clean and cozy inside, and the furniture is more updated than it appears in the photos. The beds downstairs were perfectly fine for me to sleep on (Iâm 5â6â) and the upstairs bedroom was comfortable too! Keep in mind that the bathroom is downstairs, so if you have to go to the bathroom at night, youâll be heading sleepily down this stairs. We had no issue there. The kitchen, though tiny, was big enough for the 2 of us, and we only made breakfast there each day. Was stocked pretty well.
We sure enjoyed sitting around the fire pit, and sitting in the swing by the river.
We were fortunate that no one booked the larger house at the top of the hill, otherwise it could have been a different experience, as those renters would have also had access to the space by the river.
Kristi was great in addressing the minor issues that we had.
I highly recommend this property, and itâd be great to rent both for a large group.
It was heavenly cool!! Iâll always remember opening both cabin doors in the afternoon during a brief rainstorm as the temperature dropped and napping under a blanket.
My only regret is not staying a month instead of a week!!
We had a wonderful time, loved how close it was to the river.
The only thing I would change is the rock built waterfall/small pool- it was disgusting & a huge eye soar. Remove that & move the swing closer to the river.
This is a charming cottage with lots of places to sleep and relax, both inside and out. Located in a secluded spot with the river just steps from the back door, the wrap around porch affords the perfect place to chill and take in the sights and sounds of the mountains. Additionally, an on-site firepit and provided tongs make s'mores a requirement! There is also a beautiful gazebo with a grill and plenty of large swings to snuggle on while you listen to the rushing river and breathe in the crisp, clean mountain air. Our family really appreciated the on-demand hot water heater, so there was always enough hot water for the whole family and the heater was easy to operate so we stayed toasty warm inside. We really enjoyed our stay! It is a truly lovely getaway spot.
The property was great. Clean, comfortable, and quiet. We spent most of our time outside on the porch or at the fire pit when we weren't in town. Both gas and charcoal grills were available. We took walks each day with our dog. It was a nice
Location on the Red River was prime! Outdoor deck wraps around the home. Be aware people will fish right outside your door. There is a firepit but you will need to provide your own firewood. The inside is very old. The 2 beds downstairs are not true twin beds (x-small beds). Kitchen cabinets are original guessing from the 70's. No dishwasher and on the things you have to do prior to leaving is wash all of the dishes and clean the kitchen like you found it or you will be charged extra. They do have washer/dryer, AC & Wi-fi. There is a TV but no cable. Upstairs has 2 beds in a loft.
This cottage is exactly how it is described but even better in person. The sound of the river, the smell of the pine trees, the views. All amazing. The cottage was super clean, has everything you could possibly need, and I think itâs a bonus that there isnât cable tv or Wi-FiâŠmy kids adjusted to be outside all day and loved it.
