My stay was very nice. The room was not as updated as the pictures show. You can see updates in the room. The room is very nice, very spacious. It suited its purpose for what I needed it for and I would stay again.
The property had some updates which was nice.
On arrival we opened the refrigerator and a cockroach crawled across the top of the door seal. We started seeing more in the kitchen. We asked the owner to come clean and they did, but failed to pull out the refrigerator and stove and clean behind them. We also asked that they come and spray as we were out most days. They never did. We have pictures of the food waste along the side of the stove. Claimed he had to have a contractor move the electric stove that I could pull out with one hand. We spent our own money to buy bug killer and cockroach traps. Once my wife saw one in the bathroom on the vanity top next to our towel, we had to leave early. We had to buy bags and sealed containers to pack all of our things as we did not want to bring home any bugs. We spent about $100 on these items and the owner would not reimburse us. We spent all day Saturday cleaning everything, inspecting, packing and washing all of our clothes. We ended up staying at a casino for the rest of our trip. They did refund our 5 days we did not stay there.
Our experience started upon arrival to the address. The ârusticâ building is located in a rather rundown section of Reno. Even our Uber drivers were surprised we were staying there. First we were greeted by a man yelling at us from across the street wanting to pay us to take him to cash a check. We had not received check in information and had to contact the manager for instructions. The manager directed us to apartment #2 and after several attempts to enter the code, he realized he had us at the wrong apartment. The inside of the apartment was relatively clean but furniture, carpets and blinds were quite worn, stained or broken. I took pictures for fear of not getting my deposit back. The homeless/mentally ill were quite prevalent in the neighborhood. One afternoon we were greeted by a man sitting on the steps of the building yelling and screaming he wanted to kill someone. We came home later to find mail scattered around the lawn and a metal decoration torn to pieces. This was all reported to the manager via email with no response. Also, due to unseasonably cold weather we attempted to turn on the heaters without results. A call to the manager and two calls to the emergency number went without a response. On our last evening, we finally did figure out how to get heat in the bedroom. I have stayed in several VRBOs and have never had a bad experience until now. I could not in all good conscience recommend to apartment to anyone.
This was a great space close to downtown. We are so happy with our stay. We felt safe and it was not noisy which is a huge factor for us to enjoy ourselves. The furniture is cozy, we had hot showers, and great coffee. The host is welcoming and messages to make sure we had what we needed and is available through the app to answer questions. We would recommend this place for sure!
Comfy place. Easy walk to downtown and art museum, very close to river walk, good restaurants, and coffee shops. Great communication with host. Bed/mattress could use an upgrade. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Reno.
We came for a few days to stay as a home base for skiing. The apartment was perfect for us. Not huge, but enough space for 4 people to relax comfortably. Had everything we needed, and was well maintained. When it snowed over night, someone came and shoveled out the entry way before we left in the morning. Since I didn't ski most days, I loved being able to walk to the river, coffee shops, and restaurants that were all choose by.
Great location! Walking distance to many coffee shops, bars, casinos etc. I visited during the winter and the sidewalks and stairs to the property were all kept clear. (With the exception of the outside of the sidewalk and patches of ice on the way to the hot tub - So be careful)
Its time to upgrade the mattress and bedding. The mattress topper is an improvement, but it doesnt stay in place and it takes the bottom sheet with it. The sheets are soft and smell clean. But the comforter is not easily washable which makes me wonder if its ever been.
There was no coffee in the keurig carousel, so bring your own. But the kichen is nicely stocked with cooking and eating utensils.
The bathroom is clean and tidy. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash available in dispensers. Plenty of toilet paper and towels for 3 nights and 3 people. Nice soft towels that smell clean. (Terrible water pressure though).
Its a nice budget place to stay. Ive been to worse hotel rooms that were more expensive.
The owner was very communicative, checking in with me multiple times to make sure I had everything I needed. The place was exactly as pictured and was really cozy. Everything I could want.
