For first half of the night someone was trying to ge into room next door that had been thrown out . Was making threats to whoever was staying in room. Went on for a few hours banging and trying to rip windows out, making threats until police came and arrested him about 1:00am.
It was adequate for one night's stay at a relatively low price. No air conditioning so there was a lot of traffic noise with the window open. Room was clean as was bathroom.
Comfortable quiet stay part of a longer visit to relatives. Room was cosy and ensuite was good fully functioning with lovely shower. Bed was firm but comfortable ,facilities limited but to an acceptable pricepoint
Special mention to Emma and her colleague. I arrived via a detour and was completely frazzled by the disgusting car par, un signposted that its for the Travelodge!! Copious amounts of KFC rubbish!!!! No signage and overgrown shrubs trees, long grass...seriously why would you even put a respected name to tjis hotel belonging to the Travelodge group? If it wasnt gor Emma and her colleague i would have driven on, tired and distressed. The room was i. Need of a makover, theres old and grubby. Travelodge you have lovely staff, but your hotel at Retford is disgusting and frankly unsafe for lone travelers, not lit well enough or notices sayings its the hotel car park! A refund would be the least i can expect and ill donate it back to improve the look!
Stayed here previous week and there was no hot water. At least this week there was some. Signposting to get in was very poor and you enter thro A1 North services. KFC and Mcdonalds bplus Markam Moor pub in easy walking distance.
Proximity to the A1 and poor sound insulation made for a very disturbed nights sleep. Another problem was the lack of hot water (even after running the taps for 5 minutes) so a shower was out of the question.
We were staying for a family wedding locally. The hotel athough dated suited what we needed. It was clean and had tea and coffee making facilities. Lisa who checked us in was helpful, smiley and gave us idea's for places to eat the next day.
