The room was clean and comfortable and stylish. The only bad things were that the ceiling was low in some parts and we would hit our heads on it. The bathroom door also didn't close all the way, which caused the shower curtain to get sucked into the shower while the water was on and it created and uncomfortable shower.

Our recent stay at Þingholt by Center Hotels was absolutely fantastic — and honestly, you can’t beat the location, location, location! Situated right in the heart of Reykjavík, the hotel is perfectly placed for shopping, dining, and exploring the city’s top sights. If you’re joining guided tours, Bus Stop #6 is only a three-minute walk away, which made everything incredibly convenient. The staff were super friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, always happy to help. Our room was spotless and thoughtfully equipped with a minibar and small fridge, which was a nice touch after long days of sightseeing. Breakfast each morning was delicious, and we especially enjoyed the hotel’s happy hour at the bar. There’s also a cozy spa and a small gym available for guests (exercise bikes and dumbbells). While the hotel doesn’t offer free parking, we found it very easy to park nearby. Free parking is available along the residential edges of the city center and at a free lot near the church, and with the Easy Park app, managing parking was simple. We had a car for the entire week and never had any issues. Overall, I would absolutely recommend Þingholt by Center Hotels to anyone visiting Reykjavík. Comfortable, friendly, and perfectly located — it made our trip even more memorable.

Room was lovely and clean. Options of having it redone was a nice offer. Fridge was helpful as used milk from breakfast for my tea & coffee. The powder ‘creamer’ isn’t nice. Only down side was the ambient lighting. A bit dark when locating clothes from drawers etc. staff were warm and friendly. Always greeted with a smile at reception. Location was perfect. Walking distance to everything.

The room was spacious and well laid out however, very dark. There was no main overhead light to turn on that illuminated the whole room. We had to go round and turn individual lamps on. Some of these were unplugged on arrival, so it took a while before we were even able to see the room properly. The safe was impractically small and impractically high up, so we weren't able to use it to secure a MacBook at all, despite having rang ahead to check the size - so unfortunately no use. The room was clean. The bathroom very inadequate - a tiny shower with a hanging plastic curtain, but a space so small that it became your best friend. Toiletries were provided, but very basic. The bed was comfortable but we were cold in the room on the first night, and asked for additional duvets which were provided. It was a king-size bed but you were given two individual duvets. Maybe that's the Icelandic way? Breakfast was good with a decent selection of choices. There is a very basic gym and spa. Overall a nice clean hotel in a very central location, but lacking in some basic facilities.

The room was small but for the price and the location, I thought it was great. It is very close to multiple pick up locations for tours and the staff was very helpful. My only issue with this hotel was that with breakfast included, the breakfast was AWFUL. Actually inedible.

The spa was not open until 11 like the website states and was closed for maintenance when we arrived. We did not get a partial refund for paying for spa access despite not being able to use it at all due to tours not returning until 10. I requested early breakfast for one morning during checkin and was told to ask again ata later time. The room itself was fine except for temperature. The room and refrigerator were both hot. We had to open all the windows to sleep there. I won't stay here again when I return.

The staff seemed okay. The room was crowded and hard to move around for me. I banged my head on the tv multiple times as it stuck out from the wall at an odd angle. The most worrisome thing is that the bathtub had black mold around the edges. I was concerned about that. The room I had was a nice corner room with a good view but it was close to housekeeping so I heard noises early in the morning (and I am hard of hearing). I was surprised they didn't offer free water bottles to guest like other hotels often do. I was underwhelmed by the hotel.

Really great location and amazing staff. Rooms were clean and spacious although lacking a bit of detail (eg lights not working). Mattress and pillows were comfortable. No double quilt, strange. Breakfast was limited but good, it would good if it included vegan sausages and bacon. Spa is truly disappointing and we paid extra for it, was not worth it at all - just a warm shallow pool (aka hot tub) no bubbles, no depth, pretty pointless and a sauna room. That's it.
