Excellent stay in Buck Barn, loved the location and easy to get to different areas of mid wales. The hot tub was an added bonus with stunning views, can’t wait to book my next visit!

Guys u need to go and visit this place it's very nice and calm place if u dnt like noises thats the best place to go to plus very nice places around the area shops close by i enjoyed my time there will go there in future

A beautiful place to start 2026

We visited for a mini break in the first few days of 2026, looking for a peaceful location to consume the final cheese and port from Christmas and set up our intentions and plans for the year. The lodge is beautifully set on the site, and feels very luxurious. Underfloor heating and the hottub were invaluable as the snow arrived! A lovely location to explore Elan Valley and the dams, and the recommendation of The Crown Inn was spot on for lunch.

Perfection

We had the best time at Buck Barn - the cabin itself was perfect and had everything you could want and need in a holiday rental. The extras were so well thought out and the kids had the best time roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. The location is stunning and everywhere nearby was very relaxed, even in summer holidays. We can’t wait to come back!

Amazing

Me and my partner loved staying here, the views were amazing especially waking up to dozens of sheep right outside our door. Buck Barn was well looked after and had everything we needed for our stay, the hot tub was incredible too, the only thing i could fault is that there were lots of flies around the area and a lot of them ended up in the cabin but if you keeps doors and windows closed it should be fine.

Amazing stay in very comfortable cabin in glorious valley

Great stay at Buck Barn with my two teen boys. Really comfortable, well kitted out accommodation. Hot tub was a real treat. Beautiful quiet valley with sheep and lambs for neighbours, and kites flying overhead. We had beautiful clear skies for star gazing around the firepit. Lots of local activities, and towns only 15 min drive. Would definitely stay again.

Booked Buck Barn for my partner and I just a little getaway and you did not disappoint. Amazing views, very peaceful, good to recharge the batteries. Hot tub was fab and the Lodge was in the perfect location, very clean cannot fault anything with the cabin. Value for money and we will be returning at some point in the future!

My dad wanted to stay for a month!

This was a last minute booking after being let down by a hotel for my mums birthday. The owners left some lovely treats (lemonade, Welsh cakes, Marshmallows, sweets, Milk and log burner for the fire pit) considering it was just for the night, property was lovely light and comfortable for a family of 6. Thank you again, we are coming back next year for 4 night break.

Friends walking weekend

Beautiful setting in a great location for Elan Valley. We sat in a first rate hot tub with views of the mountains, watching Red kites flying overhead and once it got dark listened to the owls. Plenty of space for the 3 of us in the very clean, modern well equipt Buck Barn. Essentials were supplied, tea, coffee, milk, toilet roll, dishwasher tablets etc there were a few luxuries as well. Will definitely be staying again x

A quiet and peaceful break from city madness

Beautiful, serene, location surrounded by sheep munching on grass. No light pollution at night and very quiet all day. Buck Barn had everything we needed to cook for ourselves. The entire property was comfortable and clean. Wi-Fi was intermittent as we were warned but what would you expect in a rural area? So it was an excellent excuse to unplug for some time. Only stayed 2 nights and it was not enough. Visited the dams near by. Definitely going back.

Excellent value for money

We loved our stay at Buck Barn. The host was very helpful before we stayed, letting us know via email what is provided for us at Buck Barn. This included the essentials such as milk and tea bags! The host was also on hand via message to help with any questions we had during our stay. The barn itself was very cosy, with great views of the hills and various animals including sheep, goats and horses out of the windows. The hot tub was warm when we arrived and was looked after each morning by a member of staff. The location of the barn is close to Elan Valley which is a must visit. Buck barn is great for a small family or a couple break. We will definitely be staying again.

Beautiful lodge with great facilities

We had a lovely weekend away at Buck Barn to celebrate my dad's 70th Birthday. We opted for the early check in and the Birthday Hamper and the lodge was decorated with banners, a balloon and cupcakes apon arrival. The lounge area was very comfortable and hot tub was a real bonus. Kitchen fully equipped and lovely crockery. Only thing I would say, is that the two beds in the maisonette area were a little uncomfortable. On the listing it said it slept 4 adults. But two of us adults slept upstairs, and I don't think it wasn't completely suitable for an adult. Just a thin matress on the floor with not a lot of head room. Also the temperature was very hot inside the lodge, we turned the heating off, but it still was quite warm inside. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend, but maybe not for 4 adults.
