This is a true southern Gem! A lovely family owned home that has been converted into a 3 bedroom stay. Has a wonderful common room and dining room for breakfasts.
My hostess, Naomi, was great. Her roots are in the area, so she knows the history! It is close to Plains, Americaâs, and Providence Canyon. Lots to to do. And bonus, Richland rum factory just around the corner. If you want a lovely southern experience, this is a must stay!
This place is a little gem! The house has so much history and the room was so comfortable and thoughtfully decorated. Naomi, the owner, is such a special person! She shared so many interesting stories about the city and the house and she also gave great recommendations. I am thankful to have chosen this place near Providence Canyon and honored to have met Naomi. I definitely recommend this place and hope to come back.
We so enjoyed our stay with Naomi. She welcomed us in, made us comfortable, and then made some excellent recommendations for dinner.
Her home was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and our breakfast the next morning was wonderful!
I wish I lived closer. Naomi would be a lovely lady to spend more time with.
We booked this b&b as a spur of the moment trip. We wanted to be close to the President Carter places in Plains. Naomi is very nice, the room was spacious and comfortable, the bathroom was spotless and well stocked. Breakfast was nice and we got to pick the time we ate. Our stay here was very enjoyable.
Just for anyone who might be interested in the area- the only other thing in Richland is the rum distillery. I do highly recommend visiting Richland Rum. But there are no restaurants (except a hit or miss Subway) and we had to ride 25 miles to find dinner. Not terrible but good information to have. We would definitely stay here again.
I stayed at this gorgeous home for two nights on a business trip. I had a warm and cozy room with a king sized bed and en-suite bathroom. Very well-appointed and spotlessly clean. Naomi is very kind, conscientious, and accommodating and will make your stay very comfortable. The breakfast was great too! I will definitely stay here again!
We had a wonderful stay at Naomiâs bed-and-breakfast! She was very knowledgeable and very accommodating. She made a charcuterie board for us upon arrival. And was the sweetest!
We were supposed to stay Sept 26-28. She messaged me the day before we were supposed to come to see when we would get in and that it would be rainy. Once we got there, she stated âIâm surprised yall still came with the eye of the hurricane hitting us.â Within 30 minutes of us getting there, the whole town lost power. We and her that we were going to leave due to it being unsafe and she said that would be the best option so she only has to worry about herself during the storm. She then stated that she was unable to refund us because Expedia keeps our payment and that she could refund us $60 but that would be out of her pocket but to reach out to Expedia and they may be able to refund us. Upon reaching out to Expedia, we were advised that they sent the payment to her and they would need to get her approval for a refund but due to the circumstances they were more than willing to refund it. She now wonât respond to Expedia about it nor will she respond to my messages. She lied to me and I feel like due to a hurricane that was as serious as it was, a refund shouldnât have been an issue.
The home has been beautifully and tastefully updated with all the most modern conveniences! We totally enjoyed the walk in shower, and the mini split in our suite. Plus, and most of important of all was the amazing comfortable bed. My husband and I got a wonderful night's sleep. The house was very quiet and peaceful, but we happened to be the only guests that night.
The hostess was very cordial and friendly. She was very helpful in directing us to the Providence Canyon State Park, and informative about other places to visit in the area.
The breakfast was light, which was fine with us as we have food allergies. The area doesn't have many places to eat, so for the evening meal you have to bring your own or go to Subway.
We loved our stay at M G Richardson Bed and Breakfast and will stay there again if going through the area again.
I love staying at a B&B. This was no exception. The bed and pillows were wonderful. My room was spacious and decorated in a nautical theme. The common area was open and stocked with books, games and a piano.
The town is very small with 1 pizza place. There are other towns in area with a few restaurants. If you have dietary restrictions be sure to bring food with you.
Local attractions include the hometown of former president Jimmy Carter and Georgia's Little Grand Canyon.
Naomi is a gracious host and I will stay there again if in the area.
Wonderful place to stay for a Providence Canyon or Plains, GA trip. We stayed for a 3 day weekend visiting both and loved it. The owner was very friendly and helpful and it is only 20 minutes away from Providence and Plains. We will definitely stay here again when we visit south Georgia.
The host was awesome, we talked for 2 hours about the history of the town and the home built in mid 1800's. The home is beautiful, very well restored. We would definitely stay again
