James' place is clean, comfortable and in a great location. The neighborhood is quiet and conveniently located near Carytown and downtown Richmond. We would definitely stay here again.
This apartment was perfect for us, ideal location near coffee shops and the people we came to visit. Even cooked dinner for 5 one night, space for everyone. Loved it!
I came to Richmond for a personal retreat and to do some long-range planning for work. Rental was well appointed, conveniently located to many nearby amenities, and met my needs. It would have been perfect if it had been a stand-alone unit. I did not realize that there would be tenants above me and unfortunately, my first night had some pretty rowdy kids and adults. Will give James props for addressing this immediately once notified of inconvenience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The home was comfortable, clean, and allowed us space to spread out. Communication with the owner was prompt and professional.
This property was roomy, cozy and comfortable in a nice neighborhood. Plenty of parking and the kitchen has everything you need and more! Super clean! We enjoyed our 3 nights there and will definitely return next time we are in Richmond.
This is a great spot! Convenient to the whole Richmond area and great walkable neighborhood with local spots nearby. I especially loved the beautiful Forest Hill Park for walking with my dog.
Pros:
Communication- the property manager was extremely responsive leading up to our stay and after. He sent a few notes before hand explaining some local eateries and favorite nearby places. Emailed when we arrived to check on us and the night before to wish us safe travels.
Home- the home was well stocked and comfortable. There were even some kid friendly plates and cups that I thought was a nice touch.
Decor- The home was well decorated with a travel theme. I think it is relatively new and everything was clean and well done.
Security- There were security cameras in the front and the back, a lock key pad in the front and back.
Cons:
The location: Mom traveling solo with two little kids and I was very uncomfortable with the location. This is in no way the fault of the owner, the house has been flipped and done so well but the area was rough. I never had an issue but driving in upon arrival⊠Iâm glad I did so in the daylight. The home is located in South Richmond and, as in most big cities, being near a downtown can be seedy. Again, I was traveling with two kids under 3 to see family so we did not need to be near bars or restaurants. If youâre a bachelor coming to be near restaurants and bars- this is the place for you! As a newer listing, there was not mention of the location in the other reviews so I was unaware that the location might be less than desirable as a single female with babies.
Thin walls: we could very easily here the neighbors in this duplex. However, I actually did not count this as a big con because it made me feel more secure confirming there were people right next door albeit I could hear most of their movements and tv at night.
Overall this is a nice property, and will probably be great for some travelers- just wasnât the right for our family due to the location.
Everything was as advertised. Nice, cozy, and very clean. Older two-story home. Thin walls so lower level hears all loud noises from upstairs. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.
