Alles bestens.
We visited recently for a 3 night stay in Cinque Terra. This is a very basic BNB. It is definitely away from the hustle and bustle of Cinque Terra but that is what we wanted. A few notes: there is no air conditioning. There was a fan and we had cool evenings so not a big deal. But to those traveling in the warmer months, just note that. We had room 2 and it is literally a room with a bed in it - not much else. It did have its own private bathroom which was clean and quite large for the size of the room. No views except from the shared terrace - which is very nice. Breakfast on the terrace was simple, yogurt, bread, coffee. Additionally, you do get a small discount on the Cinque Terra card which was nice. We ate at the small restaurant in town and it was good. Overall, pleasant experience.
Place was not accessible for transportation. We were pretty much stuck in the room with no air conditioner on 100 degree weather. Had we known this, we would never had booked this place. We left early because we were miserable & preferred to lose out than to stay one more night. I do not recommend this place. Plus restroom was outside of room & tv did not work & nobody to help.
Nice property. Quiet location. Although we had to shuttle to Manarola to catch the train it was worth it if you want a view and get away from the hustle and bustle. Only one restaurant in the village but was really good. We ate dinner there all 3 nights of our stay. Property owner was great to deal with. Breakfast was basically bread and cereal. Would be nice to have some meat and cheese.
Incredible stay with the kindest people in Volastra!
We had the most amazing stay at Il Vigneto in the charming town of Volastra! Our room was clean, spacious, and simply but functional, and had a breathtaking view of the ocean from the window. The views from the panoramic terrace are even better, though it was too cold and windy in the mornings that we were there so we ate breakfast in the cozy kitchen instead. Breakfast was simple but delicious with breads, jams, pastries, and yogurt with coffee and juice - perfect fuel for a day of hiking! And the hiking in the area was incredible! From Volastra you can easily hike to Manarola or Corniglia, or take a longer route to any of the other towns.
For times when you don't want to hike, there is a regular shuttle bus between Volastra and Manarola, though it was a bit tight when we arrived with our luggage and we only had carry-on size suitcases.
The B&B was easy to find by following the hosts instructions from the shuttle drop off point. They provided a key code to get in the front door and then our keys were in our room door so we didn't have to formally check in until the next morning at breakfast.
The hosts were so kind and welcoming, even going so far as to offer us a ride to La Spezia on the day we were leaving because I was completely incapacitated with a stomach flu. I felt so well taken care of! We also got to do a tasting of the wine the host makes from his vineyards, which was very cool!
Overall, our only regret is that we didn't stay longer in this amazing place!
My husband and I had a wonderful stay in Volastra and hope to visit again in the near future. Our host was very gracious. She helped with the Cinque Terre Card and gave us so many other great ideas. Thank you!
Modest rooms clean and comfortable. Hosts Patricia and Andrea are very friendly and great at communicating in English. Simple breakfast with a view on the terrace was a great way to start the day. Loved the peacefulness of Volastra after a hot and busy day of exploring Cinque Terre. Was so nice to spend time looking at the views and having a glass of wine on the terrace at the end of the day!
My wife and I spent a perfect three days in Cinque Terre at this location. As advertised on VRBO, clean, great views, great communication. We especially enjoyed being shown the wine-cellar where the owner (and his family) have been making wine for decades. We spent each of our days hiking to the various towns in Cinque Terre and rested well at this gorgeous spot--knowing that the rooftop breakfast with amazing views awaited us. We Would recommend to anyone looking for a great location to stay in Cinque Terre.
Absolutely breathtaking views of the bay. The property was very well maintained, clean and well located. The hostess was very welcoming and she served us with a great attitude and smile. The breakfast was delicious.
The only inconvenience was that all the restaurants in the area were closed when we arrived (since we are travelling in the low season). Consider to stop for the restaurants before you arrive as there was nothing in that area.
The view from the terrace, friendliness of the staff, and quiet location make up for the shuttle trip into manarola - the stay was amazing and I really enjoyed getting to meet the staff and locals and really learn about the culture and area
we enjoyed the stay in volastra very much. the perfect location for a hike through cinque terre and the view is exactly like in the pictures. The breakfast is very Italian just simple. You can buy everything extra for breakfast you need in the small village shop. The accommodation is highly recommended for those who just like it simple :-)
