The cottage is a perfect example of a “shore cottage” - just big enough to be a “home base” while exploring the area, but still comfortable for two adults and a teenager to not be all crammed too close together. It is part of a small group of similar cottages - everyone we met was very friendly. It was close to everything that we wanted to see - Cape Ann itself, as well as Salem, Boston, and even Cape Cod if you’re up for a little longer drive. Nice walks along the shore are right out front. We took a great whale watching tour out of Gloucester. Grocery, drug, and package good stores are in a strip mall just 5 minutes away, and the shops and art studios about two miles away the other direction in Bearskin Neck were wonderful! Between the kitchen and the outdoor grills, we were able to cook for ourselves almost every day - there were also good local places for eating out if desired. Sue, the owner, was very good at communicating and made sure we had a wonderful stay at the cottage. We would gladly stay here again.
