I booked this trip in March. Due to Hurricane Erin, our original booking (this one) had to be switched. Initially, I was grateful that Vacasa found another rental for us, even though it wasn’t right on the beach. I asked for a refund of the difference in price and was told the new rental was more expensive. There is no way what we were switched to cost more than this one! Upon check in, there was dirty bedding in the dining area and living room, no clean bedding or towels. We waited about 4 hours, our entire first evening, for bedding and towels in order to make our own beds. Next, a lady showed up our first morning there to feed the cats on the property put there “to keep down the rat population” as the lady shared. Day 3 we saw a roach (also pictured). I have been in contact with Vacasa and they are refusing any compensation stating that the bug pictured was probably a water bug. I disagreed and questioned why no compensation is being considered because the bug may not have been a roach and why none of the other issues are being addressed. I was informed they put in a ticket to another department and someone should reach out to me, but as it stands now, they are not willing to provide any compensation.
