The property was definitely not luxury. The curtains did not draw properly due to missing rings. There were light bulbs not working and the wardrobes in the bedroom did not close properly due to being cheap. The shower was large but not very powerful and needed to be resealed with new sealistic. The cheap kitchen units did not align properly and the chairs at the table were stained. The property was definitely past its sell by date! Would not stay here again.
We spent 3 nights in the St Ninians flat upstairs.
The view across the Clyde was fabulous, possibly better than the downstairs flats. The house is well placed for travelling around the island with bus stops nearby. It was kept very clean and the beds were very comfortable and the heating came on when we needed it.
The nearest supermarket (Coop) is in Rothesay itself about a mile away.
The only point to be aware of is that in common with most other holiday flats, previous renters have made a complete mess of the frying pans and the one teacloth.
You might be advised to bring your own.
We stayed for three nights as a family with a young baby. The apartment had everything we could have possibly needed, and nothing was too much trouble during our stay. The place was clean, comfortable, spacious and had the most incredible views where we could sit and watch the ferry. We definitely hope to stay again!
We were attracted by the âLuxuryâ apartments description backed up by the photos. Our apartment was luxury in terms of beautiful views from the windows (we were an upstairs apartment) and lovely big soft towels. The apartment was clean though had a strong smell as you went through the door.
The bathroom was hopelessly small, very narrow bath and pathetic shower which gave little water and shower head wouldnât stay in place. Bedroom 1 was adequate though you could feel and hear the mattress springs buckling as you got in/out of bed. Kitchen was disappointing and didnât reflect website photos. Budget equipment, cutlery stored on a shelf in the sink cupboard, Hob difficult to operate, extractor ineffective. Living space adequate with great views from the windows. Grounds spacious and well maintained with ample space for storing bicycles, washing lines and outdoor seating and parking. Convenient location for getting into Rothesay or for trips around the island.
A comfortable, relaxing break in a great location.
We had a wonderful break, our accommodation was great, comfortable, a home from home.
We were met by the friendly, helpful owners who showed us around.
The beds were comfortable, big fluffy towels and a great shower, these things are so important.
Easy check in - even though I couldn't give a good estimated time of arrival
Friendly reception by owners
Spacious lounge
Clean
Wifi was hassle free, around 6Mb/s
Good view from our room (Ettrick Bay) through the lounge windows out to the Clyde
