We loved our stay. We watched beautiful sunrises every morning, and the location was a quick walk to the lake. The bed was super comfortable, and the gardens were well kept. Thank you for making our stay in Rotorua a lovely one.
This was a beautiful location overlooking Lake Okareka, with a quiet beach just a couple of hundred metres away. A place to relax and explore, a short drive from Rotorua but without the smell and the crowds! The only fault was illegible oven dials (looked up online) and a personal dislike of the rather orange floorâŠ.. but that didnât detract from a very nice and comfortable stay.
We were only passing through for a quick night, but beautiful house with gorgeous flowers! Very clean with everything you could need. Great view of the lake. Awesome place!
Millar's Hideaway is a super place! Clean, bright, surrounded by beautiful grounds and in a quiet neighborhood. Our neighborhood walks and the longer walks around the lake were both excellent. And while it's a mountain lake retreat home, it's also super convenient to Rotorua. Highly recommended!
Kia Ora! We loved our visit to New Zealand and our stay in Lake Okareka. We were here to celebrate and witness our friends' wedding; the location was beautiful and the small house was just what we needed for the two of us. I loved the nook with benches to soak up the sun with morning coffee and it was a short walk down to the lake. We were busy enough with wedding events and others in the area, but if we had more time to hang out at the Lake, it would have been nice to find some water activities (kayaks, paddleboards, etc.). We appreciated all that was available in the home and it seemed clean from what we could tell. I appreciated the fan for the bedroom as I read in other reviews the bedroom can get stuffy even with the A/C unit on. Thank you for a wonderful stay - no complaints and thank you for the provided tea and coffee packets!
A most delightful 8 night Getaway. Heating was very adequate for a winter stayover, bed was very warm and comfortable, Loved the luxrious throws. Comfortable seating. All amentitaties were thoughtfully appointed, views of the lake and bush were quiet and relaxing. Thank you for sharing Millars Hideaway.
Loved the place, has everything you need for a relaxing stay and more. Found the large garage very useful to keep the boat ready for an early morning fishing trip. We will be back for sure.
It is difficult to adequately describe our stay at Millar's Hideaway. The setting is spectacular, beautifully landscaped to blend seamlessly with the natural scenery with beautiful views from every window in the home. The home itself is designed and perfectly appointed with every amenity for beauty, comfort, and easy living. Millar's Hideaway is so well located! It is just across the road from beautiful Lake Okeraka within 15 minutes of Rotorua's town center. We loved every minute of our ten-day stay and were very sad to have to leave!
We choose this property for the location and size as we didn't want to stay in Rotorua central. And the location and property was ideal for us. One bedroom, big livingroom/kitchen,bathroom and toilet. Very well equipped. Nice and quiet and the view from the lounge is absolutely beautiful. We would stay there again.
We had an absolutely fantastic stay, the location, outlook and presentation of the home was all beautiful. So close to Rotorua, Redwoods and activities. We loved our stay and would love to return again, horse riding, MTB and relaxing, amazing!
The pictures don't do justice to how beautiful the view is from this house. There is a lake a short walk away and Rotorua is about 15-20 minutes drive away. Everything was clean and stocked when we arrived with comfy fur blankets and a usable washing machine. The only downside to this location was that it was not very well ventilated. There was a wall mounted AC/heater unit but it wouldn't reach the bedroom well so it got very warm at night (we used the provided stand fan to help counter this). There were no vents on the windows (this seemed typical for NZ) so opening them overnight would have let in a lot of bugs. It probably would have been more comfortable to stay at during wintertime but I think the views and location were definitely worth it.
