Maria and her team made sure we were comfortable. We were welcomed with a Port wine from their winery. The breakfast was very good. It is a wonderful place to spend time relaxing. Maria was very helpful in recommending places to visit in the area and took care of our restaurant reservation. Would
recommend it to everyone who wants to relax and feel special.
This is truly a gem to be discovered. The setting is absolutely extraordinary, nested high along the hills, the views of the Douro Valley and the vignards is breathtaking, the surroundings is so relaxing. The village is very charming, like stepping back in time. The service is impeccable, from the time we arrived, Maria and her staff went over and above. For stunning views and quality service, look no further this is the place you must go.
This is by far the best place we stayed during our trip to Portugal. The place is absolutely beautiful! The host welcomed us and explain to us the history of the place. The room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. We felt like being home. There is a pool and a vineyard in the backyard. The decor is modern and cozy. The parking is accessible and easy. Itâs 25 minutes to the best vineyards and porto houses in Pignao.
We had an incredible stay here. The property is absolutely beautiful and perfectly appointed, amazing views, great location. Maria was very friendly and helpful, and gave us a lot of useful information. Our only regret was we couldnât stay longer! Definitely would recommend staying at this little hidden gem of a place.
Our four night stay at Casa do Santo was FANTASTIC! The estate is beautiful, elegant and stylish, and Maria and her staff go out of their way to make you feel at home and to make you feel spoiled. The included breakfast was excellent, and so was the dinner that the estate offers upon request. Our room was spacious and lovely. The property has beautiful views of vineyards, and the tiny town in the gorgeous Douro Valley that itâs located in, Provesende, is charming. We hope to return, because Casa do Santo is an ABSOLUTE GEM!!!
Umm can I live here?! Honestly one of the most beautiful, thoughtful and just delightful places Iâve ever stayed. The guesthouse has been renovated to perfection (you can tell love went into every detail), located in an absolutely stunning and peaceful area. The family who owns and runs this property is amazing. I so enjoyed getting to know the manager, who is a very impressive young woman! One of the major highlights of my six weeks in Portugal! Cannot recommend Casa do Santo highly enough
We had a most delightful two day stay at the Casa do Santo. Our wonderful host, Maria was full of local and historical knowledge and made us feel very welcome. Many generations of her family have tended the winery upon which this beautiful boutique hotel is built. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with beautiful views of the vineyards. Everything was first rate.
The breakfast was outstanding and the hotel offers tapas and their very own fine wine in the evening. The hotel is located in a charming little village on the side of the valley with stunning views. You can literally hike from your room through the village down the side of the valley through ancient terraces with vineyards and olive groves. The trails leads down to the Douro River and should not be missed. Our stay was truly magical.
a beautiful new quinta on a 350 year old farm/vineyard. You do not stay in the main family house but in a beautifully remodeled ruin that has so much charm. lovely breakfasts and delicious wines and tapas from their vineyard. beautiful room and view of the Douro Valley. We really enjoyed our two night stay in Douro especially because of Casa do Santo. just a few rooms so there is opportunity to visit with other guests of the quinta.
Casa do Santo was a wonderful little guest house hidden away in the pretty village of Provesende, with fantastic views of the vineyards and mountains beyond. It was quiet and relaxing and the staff were very helpful. The food was excellent and plentiful. We would highly recommend a stay in this lovely place!
Beautiful property in small village. Friendly and helpful staff. Views are wonderful amongst a tranquil setting. Convenient location to explore Douro Valley.
Maria was an excellent host, very accommodating. We arrived the weekend they the town was hosting their annual festival. Roads in the area were closed off. When we called to say we were in the area she stayed on the phone with us and interpreted to the police that we were her guests and to let us pass through to get to her place. The property has amazing views. The town is in walking distance and very old high on a mountian.
Casa do Santo was an amazing place to stay. The views of the vineyards, the decor and attention to detail made for a romantic, restful, beautiful stay.
Location, views, comfortable and well appointed rooms, gracious host, breakfast feast just to name a few. Maria has done an outstanding job with this little hidden gem. We will return!!!!
