Wonderful location, I walked everywhere! And such a sweet home. The only heads up I would give to potential renters is that the beds are rather stiff which I know some folks prefer. It’s an older house but that’s what gave it so much of its charm! Also friendly neighbors! I would stay here again for sure!

It’s incredibly well located—close enough to be walkable to just about everything while still being removed from the hustle of the main areas!The check in/out process was super convenient, and all communication was wonderfully managed.

This house is perfectly situated, in that it’s a very short walk to the river and downtown and it has a cute front porch and backyard for hanging outside. The beds were very comfortable and the four of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Salida stay

The house is very well-located for downtown Salida and the river. It was clean and easy to heat, with many sitting areas and a front porch with mountain view plus a private back yard. The kitchen was well-equipped and the main bedroom has plenty of storage and a good/new mattress. There were a few problems. The washer and dryer were unaccountably unavailable (a note in the washer stated that they were 'for use by cleaners only', although the 'leaving instructions' asked people to run a load of towels before leaving, and they are pictured in the brochure), and we found the front door locks to be difficult to use, especially with arthritis. But otherwise, well-equipped and comfortable, and a few blocks from everywhere.

Adorable Home!

Lucy's Casita was perfect for my husband and me. Plenty of room, well appointed, great back patio, and pleasant front porch. The pictures do not do this home justice. The neighborhood was peaceful (we even had some deer come and visit), while being close to downtown's restaurants and shopping. Salida's riverfront park was only 2 blocks away. Parking on the street was always in front of the house. We would stay again!

Salida Summer mountain biking

The house was perfect for our needs. It is nicer than the pictures in the listing indicate. A deep front porch and a lovely back yard were much appreciated. Check in was easy and the house was very clean. The bathroom is quite small. It was warm at night in the bunk room with no ceiling fan.

The location was very close to town, perfect for enjoying Salida. Nice backyard to relax in as well. Modern kitchen, and a very nice living room at the front of the house so we could relax and watch the neighborhood. We had a great stay!

Lovely house, very clean and quiet. Great location, easy walk (one block) to shops. Beds were very comfortable and kitchen was well-equipped, even with a spice rack and to-go coffee cups. Owners were easy to reach when we had a few questions. Thank you!

Summer getaway

The property was clean and as advertised. We have been to Salida many time, but never stayed in downtown. The location of this property is awesome. 1 block from the major intersection downtown so everything is walkable, but not a lot of traffic and noise at the property. The property is between two parks, which are both about 2 blocks away.

How it should be

We were looking for a few days away from the Texas heat and thought we'd check out Salida, CO. A quick search brought up this charming house near downtown Salida. From start to finish, everything went like clockwork. VRBO didn't send the check-in info as soon as I thought they should, but fear not. The property owners were right there to pick up the ball and expedite the process. Owners could not have been more accomodating. The property was exactly as described. Clean, comfortable, well appointed, and walking distance to almost everything. This cottage is a gem and would happily stay there again!

Fun little house - served our needs nicely!

Lucy's Casita is a nice little house located in the heart of Salida. I was pleased with the fact that the grocery store and several restaurants were located with-in 4(?) blocks of the property. If we stayed during a warmer season, walking to any of the restaurants, stores or grocery would be very reasonable. The house is small, but does offer everything you need to enjoy your stay. We did have a need upon arrival and the owner did assist us with-in minutes to remedy the problem. We were there to ski at Monarch. We found the drive between Salida and Monarch to be a reasonable 20-30 minutes depending on traffic/weather. The Monarch Ski area is a total commuter style resort. There is really no lodging or restaurants in the area. So staying in Salida was a great solution. I do recommend the house for a family of 2-4.
