We were in town for a wedding. The view was breathtaking. Quiet location set atop 300 acres of beautiful farmland. Plenty of sleeping quarters for our entire party of 12. Clean, comfortable and good WiFi. Terrific communication with the owners. You can order firewood and starters which they even delivered. No doubt if weâre ever in that area again we will make sure to book this hidden gem!
We really enjoyed our stay at Spenceville Farm. The front porch had wide ranging views and was great for bird watching. The interior of the farmhouse was comfortable and well-equipped with hardwood floors throughout. The hosts were very accommodating and provided great information about the area. We can recommend highly The Museum of the Middle Appalachians and the Well Fields (inland marsh area) in Saltville, the VA Creeper trail in Abingdon, and Grayson Highlands State Park. We hope to come back!
We came here to relax and get away from it all and it was the perfect place to do just that! The mountains surrounding the farmhouse are simply stunning. We had plans to travel different places to hike, but we didnât end up leaving the house at all for hiking. Why would we? You can hike around this beautiful place and thereâs no other people in sight! No crowds, so peaceful and the porch swing bed was heaven! The house itself was beautiful too and had everything we needed.
This was our 2nd annual motorcycle ride with two of our dear friends!! We chose Spenceville Farms as our central location to leave each day for our 2 wheeled journeys including VA, TN and NC. Our stay at Spenceville Farms was perfect for the 4 of us, with each one having a bedroom upstairs. We enjoyed our mornings sitting on the front porch sipping our coffee as well as talking a walk on the property! It was a perfect peaceful get-a-way!!
Our intention was to disconnect and get away from the "hustle & bustle" of city life, and boy did it work out! What a beautiful and peaceful retreat! The views are amazing, and the house is so comfortable and tasteful! We loved sitting on the porch swing while drinking coffee in the morning, and star gazing at night. The dogs loved chasing frisbees and running free. The kids (and parents) were super excited to find plenty of games and even a closet full of legos! We loaded the house with food and cooked almost all of our meals in the well equipped kitchen. We even stayed one whole day in the house without leaving, doing arts and crafts at the table. When we did venture out, we loved that there were several state parks and other attractions close by. We visited Hungry Mother State Park, Bristol VA/TN, Grayson Highlands, and Big Walker Lookout. Highly recommend.
Our group loved staying at this beautiful farm. The views were stunning, and the home itself was so beautiful and was able to fit all of us that were staying together for a family reunion. We only wished we could have stayed longer! It's a peaceful spot with all the amenities we needed!
The property is absolutely delightful. Love the views, love the fire pit, house is super cozy. Wifi is almost nonexistent so prepare your group ahead of time so there are the right expectations. Host are very accommodating. Really enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful home on stunning property. Great location to explore surrounding areas with privacy and quiet setting. Home was generally clean except the floor was is need of a thorough cleaning. Short on essentials (toilet paper) and owner requires you to wash towels used. Poor Wi-Fi so be ready to unplug especially from TV/internet. Overall recommend for a peaceful country getaway with plenty of room for all.
House is beautiful, well stocked and furnished. Beautiful views. Canât beat the area for a mountain vacation. Owners were great to work with. Highly recommended
Enjoyed the views and the house. Be aware itâs a gravel driveway and one I would not want to attempt after dark. Owner was very good at responding to messages.
We stayed at the property with my family and friends celebrating my 40th. Owners left birthday card, flowers and decorated the kitchen for me!!! Everybody had so much fun, house had everything we needed, property is fun to explore. We were the last guests to see and take pictures with that cool truck. Sad to see it gone but super happy we took the pictures before it got moved. I absolutely loved our stay there!
We LOVED your home and location of the property. The views outside were breathtaking and the photos of the inside do not do the home justice.
Our favorite activity at your home was having the fire in the evening, out in front, while watching the sunset.
We used your home as a hub for our hiking weekend. It was so close to many amazing hikes. We chose to do The Channels and Devils Bathtub.
While we were bummed we didnât get to see Rowdy, we had another dog that slept on the porch while we were there that was super sweet. We hope the dog found its owner (if it wasnât yours) or way back home.
We took the kids to get away, and get away is exactly what we did! Very relaxing surroundings, gorgeous views and great house with everything you need.
I chose this house because of its location to some state parks that I was hoping to visit as I continue on the Virginia Trail Quest. I was able to visit 6 more, Yeah!. The views are gorgeous. The night on the porch watching the sunset are my favorite. We enjoyed the games at the house. The weather prevented us from enjoying a fire in the firepit but maybe next time the weather will be better. The slowness of internet helps with teenagers, we are strict about data on their phones so we had many long talks with our kids which was nice.
This farmhouse is just perfect. The view from that front porch is just amazing. This was our second time here and I can definitely see many more in the coming years.
