Escape from New York 2 night vacay

The hotel is about a year old. Therefore, the beds are great as they have not been slept on by a variety of body weights. The hotel smells wonderful and clean. I found the staff to be helpful. I missed the breakfast, so I cannot comment on it. The free snacks is a nice touch. However, the water and ice machine was broken on the third floor and I had to go to the 3rd floor, which was inconvenient. Also, the jelly beans dispensers were broken on the 3rd and 4th floors. Overall, I had a very good experience. It is within walking distance of many attractions. I will point out that it's target audience appears to be gen Y. Also, I use a walker and I found that there was no one to open the door for me. The hotel should install a button that automatically opens the door and a sign to show the hotel entrance.

Love the rooms and the hotel concept (Africa's). Enjoyed a drink in the lobby. The free candy bar in each floor. Comfortable beds, clean room, nice bathroom… Definitely will return.

Really neat place. Unfortunately the hotel hallways and room had a strong incense smell. This led to us limiting our stay to only one night. Breakfast area is small which led to overcrowding. Positive note; the valet service was awesome.

I was stranded by a canceled flight and based on Expedia decided to give this place a shot. Safe to say there’s no way I would have found it otherwise - the analogy that comes to mind is “speakeasy.” No obvious street presence or name recognition, but once you enter it’s a chic/period vibe complete with a welcome craft cocktail in the lobby. Room was nice and quiet with a frig. On the north fringes of the Gaslamp but an outstanding value if you want an adult oriented overnight retreat downtown. This place will probably hit “hidden gems” travel blogs if it hasn’t already.

Very nice staff. Great atmosphere inside, very cozy rooms. Building and rooms is older so it was a little stuffy. Area around was nice. I stayed one night on a weekend it was very lively outside but inside my room I could t really hear the commotion outside. Breakfast provided was also pretty good.

I enjoyed the included breakfast at the hotel. It was a pleasant stay, although I was a little iffy after we found a small blood stain on the bathroom door. Another thing was the listing stated parking included, but there was not. I had to park inside a parking garage down the street.
