There is a standard for Sonesta hotels, and this property didn't meet those expectations. The property is dirty. The room smelled like cigarettes and fish. toilet seat was broken and carpet in hallways was filthy. Front desk staff was great. Wouldn't stay here again.

Had a great stay for almost two weeks at Sonesta ES suites . The staff is very friendly and co operative . The rooms are spacious and the small kitchenette was a blessing . The location is superb as there is a market place just adjacent to it. For an Indian like me, there was not one but three Indian restaurants nearby . And also an Aldi supermkt . The hotel had gym and laundry facility and the cleanliness is good enough . The only downside for me was fewer options for breakfast . Since we are vegetarians and were staying for a longer duration, I had requested for some vegetarian option instead of the daily bread, it was taken care of for 2 days but then it was the same non veg options everyday. Apart from that , everything else was awesome. Thankyou Sonesta ... for being an important part of our memorable stay in San diego💕💕💕

Staff was wonderful during checkin and throughout my stay. Breakfast was top notch!! Very delicious and the chef always had breakfast ready before start time which was great for us! The king suite was nice and clean. Bedding and towels were spotless and fresh! BUT the kitchen needs more kitchen towels, a sponge for each booking because the dish brush was dirty (hair in it) it’s not sanitary to share with past guests, we needed dish washer detergent or pods, non were provided, the tub was clean but it’s pretty stained. The outdoor area is very nice and cozy, loved the fire pit. Again staff was wonderful and the Chef is the best!

the area of hotel feels safe, it’s located next to a small plaza with supermarket and restaurants so it’s very convenient, the room was big and as shown in picture. Breakfast was nice, and staffs are helpful. Overall we enjoyed the stay and will come again!

Pretty good location but hotel is bit weathered.

Pretty good place overall. The facility looks weathered inside but close to a lot of food and ucsd. Has on-site laundry, but it cost 6 dollars per load to wash and to dry. Parking is not free. Breakfast is really early so a bit inconvenient..from 630 to 830am. They don’t clean every day. Just every 7 days. You can leave trash and towels outside your door for refresh but it can be unsightly.

This is our first stay here and we liked it. The building is old but like any other hotel in the area, it is well maintained. It is clean inside and out. The room is clean and has a good size. It is the usual breakfast served any other hotels. Price wise, it is worth the price we paid. Access to dining is convenient, there are several dining choices few steps from the hotel. Staffs are friendly and very welcoming. This will be our new favorite in San Diego.
