The Sofia was wonderful to stay at. Rooms were small but the quality of amenities in them made you overlook the size of the room. Loved that it had a microwave. Easy parking. Walking distance to many city locations. Highly recommend.

Customer service was not very good. Valet was never outside, even when you waited awhile. They were not parking other cars- they were chatting with staff. Left the heaviest bag for me to put in the car. Hotel staff had me go into the office to put my luggage on the shelf instead of taking it in the office and storing it. The restaurant was being remodeled. Room was stuffy and clearly not stayed in or aired out for a long time

The hotel is dark and dingy. My toilet wasn’t cleaned - marks on bowl upon checkin - Yuk! Hair left on floor of bathroom. Mini bar empty, hotel staff at check in - seemed uninterested in being helpful or welcoming. Can name if helpful. Avoid this hotel!

This historic building is lovely. Being an old building, the rooms are slightly small but quite livable. I loved the in-room Nespresso coffee maker. The San Diego Zoo and Balboa park are very nearby and easy to get to from here.
