Did not meet expectations

I left this hotel feeling very disappointed. I booked specifically for the advertised city view, yet the first room we received (Room 261) looked nothing like the pictures and was located next to Reverb nightclub—entirely inappropriate for a family with a 5-month-old and a toddler. We were moved multiple times: first to a single king room for four people, where the promised crib and rollaway never arrived, and then to Room 439 with only a partial view and was located in the corner near the elevator and water machine. Each move felt careless, as though our family’s needs and reservation were simply disregarded. To make matters worse, the pool was unusable—not only was it too windy, but it was also unheated despite being advertised otherwise. I emailed reservation management about all of this and received no response. The poor communication, repeated room issues, and misleading amenities made this stay extremely frustrating and disappointing.

Awesome location, great hotel

Loved staying at Hotel Caza! While it wasn’t centrally located for what I wanted to do (most things I wanted to do required a 15-60 minute public transit ride to get to) it was perfectly located for access to Fishermen’s Wharf and Ghirardelli Square, and just generally a nice area to stay. I had no problem accessing transit from the hotel - bus stop right outside, a couple minutes walk to 2 cable car turnarounds & right around the corner from the F line trolley. Easy slightly uphill straight-shot walk to get to Little Italy and Chinatown up Columbus street. Almost everything I have to say is a pro - easy check in with a friendly staff, clean room, a person onsite if you want to coordinate/book excursions (a feature I didn’t use but was nice to know was available). I read some reviews that said there were no fridges, but when I got to my room there was a mini fridge so I’m not sure if that was a perk of being an “Expedia VIP” or something the hotel just does now that it didn’t before. The area felt super safe and it was nice the hotel required a room key to get in after dark. The only hotel-con I have is when I turned the shower on the water appeared to be slightly brown. This went away after running it for a minute, and I assume just a product of old pipes. If you’re a light sleeper you might be bothered by the occasional loud bass car driving by, but it was infrequent (not hotel’s fault). Everything else was great, and definitely plan to stay here next time I come to SF.

This is our fourth time to stay here. The staff is so helpful and nice- and busy! The temperature of the rooms can be difficult with the AC, but it’s a good location and we like staying here. I do wish refrigerators came in the rooms 😄. Thanks again Hotel Caza. See you next time.

I like the location of the hotel. In 7 minutes of walking we were already on Pier 41 and 39. Very clean hotel. Staff members very helpful. Dog friendly. We are planning on returning again very soon.

We ended our stay early because we could barely get any sleep. The hotel is located near a busy street and the flimsy windows let in every bit of noise including trash pick up very early in the morning. The beds are not queen size--they're doubles, even though the website clearly states they are queens. On top of that, you have to pay extra for parking, a coffee machine, and even a refrigerator. Only coffee is included with your stay. The breakfast options were very limited, consisting only of a premade sandwich or a premade burrito. Overall, this was a very disappointing stay, and the price is far too high considering the lack of comfort and amenities.
