I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Emblem - it's a charming hotel. A number of hotels in this area seem to spend their money on lobby decor and doormen and have very blah rooms. In contrast, Hotel Emblem feels like it puts more money into its room (though the lobby is nice and there's also a cute coffee shop attached). The staff were lovely and the Expedia package I was on waived the resort fees (which I think are in general a rip-off). The area around the hotel is safe - as it's a few blocks up from Powell Street, it's more removed from the less salubrious characters who linger near the BART station. I would recommend Hotel Emblem if you're staying in the Union Square area, and would stay again. (Also try Fanoo's across the street!)

Beautiful property. Staff went above and beyond. I will note that I was hit with an 80 dollar amenity fee when checking out. Be sure to read through all details of your stay as I was definitely surprised by this. Would stay again but definitely would budget for this ahead of time!

A great boutique hotel with an artistic theme. The price was great for the location in SF and accommodations. Very close to plenty of food options and convenience stores. Enjoyed my stay and would stay there again!

Location is excellent, just a block off Union Square. Walgreens and Starbucks is just around the corner. Coffee shop at the lobby of the hotel is excellent. The lobby is dark ambience. Staff are helpful and courteous. The room we got is small, over looking a roof of building nextdoor. But the room is very clean and functional. Bed mattress and pillows comfortable. We even got microwave and small fridge delivered to our room, no charge as included in amenities. Also requested typewriter to be delivered , part of amenity.

Excellent stay for a first intro to the city! Walking distance to all of the luxury Union Square shopping, one street over from a car car ride, safe and walkable! Super cute sandwich/smoothie bar next door! Dope lobby, super nice amd helpful staff and ONE of the BEST BEDS I've ever slept! Super clean and CRISPY duvet and sheets! Only stayed for one night but wished i had more time.for a longer stay! Would definitely return and recommend!
