Staff was friendly. Check in was easy. My room was very clean. It's clear there have been more recent updates, but it does show a little wear now, though still nice. I really appreciate the hardwood floors rather than carpet.
It also had A/C - which even in the city, rooms can get warm so it's a must for me. And I was happy to have a microwave and fridge. The room also had room darkening shutters and it was quiet - so I slept really well.
Parking on site was easy and free, which in the city is a big plus!
The hotel is a very short walk to the beach and there's a great coffee shop near by, and a great taco truck! The hote is right by where the trains turn around - but inside the hotel and room I couldn't hear them.
I was traveling alone visiting family and I felt very safe and comfortable in the hotel and being able to park on site.
I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons. First is the location. While very close to the beach, it may look/feel a little 'iffy'. But again, I felt safe at the hotel and in my room. All the rooms are accessed inside and you have to have a key card to enter. The second reason is they don't have an elevator and rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors.
But overall this was a very affordable great little hotel with nice, clean rooms and everything I wanted and needed. I will absolutely be staying here again.
