My husband and I stayed during the first week of December to celebrate my birthday. The property was surreal — you get breathtaking views of both the beautiful mountains and the sea. The rooms were newly renovated and gorgeous. The property was crowded. We didn’t get to use the Jacuzzis, as they were pretty full throughout our two-day stay (Weekend). The pools opened at 10 a.m., so if you’re an early bird like us, that can be inconvenient. On the bright side, the beach is right there, and you can catch a gorgeous sunrise — or if you visit during a full moon, you can enjoy the moonlight on the beach or from the hammock thoughtfully placed nearby. We dined at Roots Coastal Kitchen (reservations recommended), where we had a delicious dinner and a warm, welcoming experience — special thanks to Chayanne R. We also dined and grabbed snacks at 5 O’Clock Somewhere; the food was pretty decent, the drinks were delicious, and the service was prompt.The location is very close to El Yunque National Forest and Fajardo Marina if you want to island-hop.

The National Park Rainforest is less than a 5 minute drive away. Excellent resort with lots of amenities. 2 Championship golf courses, tennis and pickle ball courts.

’ll start by saying the property itself was beautiful, with a secure entrance and friendly staff. However, there were several issues during my stay that made the experience less enjoyable than expected. I reserved an Ocean View King room but was assigned what I would consider a Pool View King on the 3rd floor. While you could see small portions of the ocean, most of the view was blocked by trees and the pool’s water slides. I was offered a move to a higher floor on Monday, but since I was checking out Tuesday, it didn’t seem worthwhile to unpack and repack for just one night of the correct room type. A few other inconveniences stood out: The TVs are not smart TVs, so streaming wasn’t an option. There are no microwaves in the rooms or available for guest use. The West Wing is a far walk from both valet parking and the front desk. The elevator in the West Wing does not have a button labeled “3”, even though my room was on the third floor. Pressing “L” took me to the correct level, which was confusing. The phone in my room didn’t work, so I had to call the front desk using my cell phone until the phone was repaired on Monday. On Saturday night, the power in my room went out, which added to the inconvenience. Additionally, if you book through Expedia, be aware that the resort fees at check-in may be higher than what your reservation lists. I was told they weren’t sure why the amounts didn’t match. Food was good and Staff at Restaurants were very nice , when we first checked in the a/c wasn’t working or room phone and the ice machine on floor didn’t work either , also there were 3 elevators on floor side but only one worked and at one point it didn’t go to are floor so had to walk down stairs , for the money we spent to stay here during construction which was not told to us was definitely a waste of money

Place was beautiful and rooms were spotless. I only took off 1 star because the casino and spa still were not opened and we were looking forward to them. Staff is great, beach is beautiful and close to property.

Due to construction, multiple areas were closed for renovations like the spa, casino, and the adult pool area. All of which is part of a mandatory resort services fee that was NOT included with the resort. Big waste of money and time since we could have gone somewhere with alot less construction.

Resort was very clean and the employees were very nice. Restaurants didn’t have unbelievably good food, but it was good. Chayanne R. at the roots restaurant was by far the highlight of our time there. Super cool guy and made us feel like we’re regulars. Didn’t like that the resort didn’t offer an all inclusive option, but that was very quickly eclipsed by the relaxation and escape you have. Would recommend and would go again.
