Disliked: Amenities
Room wasn’t clean. Carpet is awful old and questionable
Don’t be fooled by the photos. This is a very outdated motel, who used cheap floor and wall materials and simply laid them over the top of a rundown, un-clean base. The “pool view” was seen through a dirty, old and blackened edges (mold?) sliding door to a bare balcony with overrun with cobwebs. Such a disappointing stay. If we had paid $100-150 -maybe okay?… but for over $300+ a night - it was absurd. It’s was just a SAD property. Pay the extra 100 for another area hotel - and be clean and happy.
This is a very misleading property based on their website photos. It’s a “remodeled” Motel. The only nice thing were the beds. It was clean for the most part but the refrigerator was unplugged and when I connected it, it started leaking all over the floor because of the melted ice since it had been turned off. There was also mold in the freezer part of the minifridge. Behind the beds was very dirty and there were spiderwebs on the ceiling. The balcony felt unsafe with the railing moving. It was load all night from 10pm-4am. The people next to us were going in and out and slamming their doors and talking loudly and smoking. I felt extremely unsafe because we called the front desk and no one was there. The building is left alone overnight. The next morning when we talked to the manager he simply said we should called the cops. So unprofessional and unsafe. I was worried all night for the safety of my child. I do not recommend this place at all.
This is my second time staying at this hotel, and still I have no complaints. The staff is friendly and the room is nice. Beautiful view of the mountains! Free parking! Easy access to the freeway.
No manager to shut down the pool/spa after hours. People were in there making noise ALL HOURS of the night!!! They were there until almost midnight and started again about 4am. This area should have been closed to the public during there poster hours… which I think stated 9am until 10 pm. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone!!!

Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Okay for a quick stop: clean and somewhat updated
We stayed overnight for a quick trip to see our student at CP-SLO and picked it for the price (as other hotels were higher - turned out it was the weekend before St. Patrick's Day and lots of young people come into town for the "celebration"). I'd read reviews, so knew it was an older property. The room was clean, bathroom clean and updated. Room decor was newer but a bit odd. The big issues for us were: back doors to the building were indeed difficult to open; we finally were walking to the front desk for help when we ran into the guy who helped me when zi checked in and he took us to SHOW US THE TRICK (there was a small sign on the door handle we hadn't seen in the dark). But no fun to be out in the dark and cold trying to figure it out. They need BIGGER signage! Second issue was the young people near us who were loud until 2:30 am - lucky us...there were lots of young people (not unexpected) and the young men near us were disrespectful with their noise/loud yelling/talking. When we checked out in the morning, I mentioned it and the desk guy said he'd talked to them. Still not a great night's sleep - if it had gone on longer, I probably would have called the front desk. I knew this was a possibility and rolled the dice - and lost! :(
