I have stayed in the Hellgate Codominiums in the past. Great location and clean. I have always enjoyed the limited number of units and the natural feel of the location. The Unit A was well equipped and cozy. It is somewhat dated but the beds and living room couches were comfortable and homelike. I would recommend this condo the a family of four and max six. The kitchen was well equipped and efficient. I would definitely stay there again. Unfortunately the snow was sparse and did not deliver as Utah has in the past.

Great location. On the bus route between Alta and Snowbird, just a few minutes away from each. The condo is spacious and well cared for. We found the kitchen stocked with everything we needed, including coffee and spices. (Pro tip - don't buy coffee filters! There are plenty of those already in the cabinet)Communications with the owner were clear and responsive. Overall, a great stay and a fantastic overall experience.

Excellent!!!

We had a great time at Hellgate! The skiing was fantastic. The roomy 3-bedroom/3-bathroom condo was perfect for our family. Jeff was responsive and accommodating. On site, Ryan was awesome, answering our questions, helping us dig out our second car (indoor parking for one car) and helping us with the shuttle on powder day . The kitchen is well stocked with silverware, glasses, mugs, plates, and pans. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the condo. A tip, ask the shuttle driver where pickup is at the end of the day when he is dropping you off. The drivers drop you off up hill, which is a better location to start the day, but pickup is a different location.

Property was ok, but not great. Sort of expected that. It was quite confusing to book a place through VRBO and then iTrip takes over part way through the process. You guys should be more up front about that.

Great location for skiing

Location is great for skiing between Alta and Snowbird resorts. Shuttle makes its easy to get to both resorts and runs every 30 minutes. Condo is comfortable and had all we needed for cooking at home. Important to shop in SLC before coming up mountain since no close stores to shop for food. We were there during big storm which dumped 2 feet of snow so was difficult to leave the area. Property managers were great with communication and helping dog out our vehicle from snow. Condo itself is comfortable but not luxurious. Kitchen well stocked for cooking and baking. Enjoyed our stay and loved the location and ability to get to skiiing quickly!

Nice place but HOA need to communicate better with owners

The entry stairs to the building were being renovated and were closed. It was difficult to load in bags and groceries. The HOA did not let the owner know about this. On the second day the property manager allowed us to use the stairs and it made life much easier. The unit itself was nice and maintained well.

Extended Easter weekend powder perfection

Great location for Alta or Snowbird. Free shuttle was wonderful. Sleeps 6 adults easily. Lots of stairs to get down to the condo, made unloading the car exhausting. Boot up room benches, hooks & shelves was a great area to store ski gear, gloves, helmets etc in one place.

Powder Roost Hell Gate

We had a great stay. The property manager that was onsite, Ryan, was super helpful. He helped us get our vehicle stuck out of the snow. We would definitely come back. Only suggestion would be to provide a bin for recycling. Thanks!

great location - comfortable apartment

Great property, perfect for group of friends and/or family to enjoy a week a skiing. While not directly on the slopes, there's a convenient shuttle going around Alta, so you can walk out of your apartment in you ski boots and be on the slopes in 10 times. Apartment is very comfortable and even in 5 adults never felt cramped. Kitchen is well equipped for any cooking We did have one incident with the apartment (clogged pipes), which was not our fault, but affected our bathroom and kitchen. Ryan (building manager) and Jeff (rental manager) were super responsive in the communications and sought to the reduce the inconvenience as much as possible. Jeff kindly offered to refund that day from the rental to compensate for the trouble. One small drawback is that this unit, being on the lower floor, does not have the nice views of some of the upper units. A very good stay overall and would certainly consider staying again.

Family trip

Had a great week at Alta. Condo was very clean and conveniently located between Alta and Snowbird with quick shuttle service to either mountain. Kitchen equipped well enough to make meals and appreciated coffee supplies. Cozy couch and fireplace to relax around at end of the day. As noted in a previous review, third bedroom with bunkbed is located right off dining area and does not have a real door and no baseboard heating but is equipped with a space heater. Also, you will hear foot traffic above and up/down stairwell of condo so if you are someone that likes to sleep in this may not be the right place for you to rent.

A place to come back to

The floor plan of the unit is exceptional. It's three bedrooms/three baths easily accommodate six people. without being crowded. The living/dining area is open and spacious. The property manager was responsive to our needs/questions. The location and view from the unit are beautiful. My husband and I are older and we were happy to have had one of our children help us carry bags, groceries, etc. up and down the several flights of stairs necessary to get to the unit. I didn't ask, but it may be possible to access the unit by elevator. Don't mean to suggest this takes away from the experience. Just that one might want to consider this when booking.

Nice Spot for A Family Stay

The condo is in an older building but it worked well for our family stay at the start of the summer season (4 adults and 2 children). Had everything we needed. There are quite a few stairs to reach the condo with your belongings so would be difficult for those with mobility issues. Was nice to have designated garage space, although it is tight if have a larger vehicle. Overall we enjoyed our stay in this condo.

Beds are Terrible

There is nothing worse than booking a place to stay and sleep then having terrible beds. I took pictures and if I could post them I would. The 2 king beds were split king beds which is 2 twin XL mattresses side by side. The mattresses are about 10 years overdue for a change out. We could not sleep near the center of the bed as the middle 18 inches of the bed was about 1 inch higher than the hole we were sleeping in on the remainder of the mattress. The owners put a piece of foam in the middle of where the 2 mattresses met which only made it worse. They also had several mattress pads to try to make up for how bad the mattresses are. Needless to say we got very little sleep while we were there. The third bedroom appears to be a dinning room converted to a bedroom with no window and no second means of egress in case of fire. Not sure how/if that gets past the building code. If there is a fire and you can't get out the front door, don't plan on escaping. As shown in the main picture on the listing the sofa blocks the back door and even if you get out the snow is so high outside the door all you will be able to do is stand on the porch. If you just want a place where you can prepare food and sit on a sofa you will be just fine. Don't plan on getting a good nights rest.

Traditional mountain condo perfectly situated right in between both awesome resorts. Large parking garage allowing clearance for my truck (7+ft). Jeff was very helpful and responsive as host.

A place to return to

Good floor plan, accommodates gatherings well while providing privacy if wanted. Great location for hiking in Little Cottonwood. Covered parking for one car is a plus. Onsight manager responsive and helpful. Need to be able to negotiate several flights of stairs from the parking area to access the unit. Would not recommend for people with disabilities or mobility issues.
