Our family had a good time, because we can make anything work. But the property was a bit grimy. Our room, however, was clean and the property management (when present) was kind.
Our room really needs to be updated. There were a few holes in the wall, and the bathroom tub was not in good condition. Sheets were old and had some spots on them. No room in the parking area for our car on 6/7-had to go find parking on a street nearby. Good location. Easy to find food in the area.
We had a nice stay at the Surf City Inn. The room was clean, we got to check in earlier than expected. The. Indoor pool & jacuzzi was nice and clean. I was confused on using the kiosk while checking out. I would have preferred to chat with someone at the front desk.
I wish I would have paid more attention when I selected this "property". It was billed as a house at first but is really a Motel. A suite for me is a living room and a bedroom, this had one of the two bedrooms in the living room. There was no closed in the 2nd bedroom. There was only short hanger that you were able to put cloth hangers on. The indoor pool smelled horribly of chlorine and I never did go for a swim. They do have a nice outdoor seating area with mini golf and one other game. Another outdoor seating area outside the main check in building. And since we were on the first floor we got to listen to the kids above us run around all night. Like a herd of elephants. We had dogs with us and there is a little park next to the Motel that you can take them if they need to go. A lot of homeless people in Santa Cruz but it did not spill over to the Motel. I think I'll spend a little more the next time for a nice rental house.
The location was a 8-minute walk to the boardwalk which was nice, the bed, wifi and TV were fine. The pool was indoors, filled with screaming children and honestly looked pretty gross. The lobby appeared to be in state of remodeling and was closed at night, so there was no access to the lobby bathroom. The sign to the motel was covered in cobwebs. The outdoor seating area was in the parking lot or on the street. We were only there for one night and didn't spend much time at the motel so overall it was OK since it was close to the Boardwalk.
Room was clean, roomy, more than adequate for 4 people, our 2 boys shared the king bed in the front room. The smaller private room has a full closet, queen bed and cable tv on a big screen. Mini-fridge was actually cold!! All the beds were comfortable and you cannot beat the location, we walked to the boardwalk and wharf daily! Indoor heated pool and spa! Nice place, quiet and in the best location for tourists activities. We would stay again.
Dogs allowed for an extra fee paid at the hotel. Hard floors so no worry about staining carpet. The room was clean. No pictures on the walls or decorations, very sterile. It was a 2 room suite and the wall ac/heater was only in the main room so the 2nd room was freezing. I slept in leggings a t-shirt a sweater and socks and I happened to have an extra blanket that also came in handy. I had to leave the door open to let what heat would trickle in come through which defeated the purpose of having separate rooms. Unfortunately it wasn't clear that this was a hotel property until I pulled the trigger on the VRBO booking. It was cheaper on another travel site.
The accommodations were adequate, not great but it was clean when we got there. I had to ask to have it cleaned on the second day and get fresh towels and on the third day it did not get cleaned at all! I had to go to the office to get fresh towels that evening. That was very disappointing since we had put out the sign asking them to clean it on both days.
It was a small little place to sleep in between our adventures in the area. They didn't have extra toilet paper though which was annoying to go and ask for some. They didn't have any hooks for towels or swim suits. They didn't give us extra towels for the pool.
The location was perfect - short walk to SC Beach Boardwalk. Renovated rooms. Very clean other that the stains on the towels and bedding. Paper-thin walls, difficult to sleep with the surrounding room / street noise.
Very polite and friendly management. They were very kind and accommodating. There is room for improvement but overall it was a pleasant stay. :)
The room was spacious. Missed a closet, luggage rack, drawers. Overall appearance was clean until your in the bathroom and notice the baseboards. Convenient location. I would stay again.
We stayed for one night at the Surf City Inn. It was very nice, clean, and well maintained. It is a short half mile walk to the Boardwalk, beach, and the Pier. It even has an indoor pool and spa. Our room was a 2 room suite with very comfy beds. The management was so great. Very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely stay here again!
We had a good overall experience, seems to be newly renovated it was nice having 2 rooms in the suite.. wouldâve been nice to have a small table & chairs in the room.We had fun playing corn hole.
