Actually the front desk guy was a bit surly when I asked for fresh towels ( my husband did not want to be disturbed when the housekeeper was making her rounds earlier). Other than that the stay was as expected.

This little place was great! Very centric, and pretty much right off what im assuming is a main street running through Santa Cruz. Close to many attractions, stores and downtown. The room was very clean, and the customer service was amazing. The breakfast was nothing fancy, but you also can't expect much if it's free, I suppose. The hotel is pretty small, and it's easy to get turned around while walking through the property, but it's practically a non-issue. Will definitely be staying here again.

There was plenty of parking during this stay. The restaurant Vim is across the parking lot, Ferrell's Donuts and Chloe's Kitchen (Chinese food) are across the street and Safeway grocery store is a short walking distance away. Beverages such as coffee and tea could be available outside of breakfast hours, such as in the lobby. The breakfast time could end later, such as 9:30 am.

The office staff member was helpful with questions about local restaurant options. The room was clean and nicely lit. The beds were comfortable with nice bedding. The included breakfast was very nice to have. I appreciated the hard boiled egg and bagels, juice/fresh fruit, and coffee. We would stay again when visiting the area.

The thin walls at Mission Inn are awful. We could hear people next to us in the bathroom. But worse than that, the people/kids above us sounded like a herd of elepants at all hours preventing us from relaxing and sleeping. It’s tight on the main road into Santa Cruz so it can be noisy depending on the location of your room. If you’re not sensitive to noise, it’s a good location an the staff is responsive.
