Santa Fe is expensive. This property is a perfectly fine budget choice, but like most properties, I think the rating is inflated. As long as you know what you are getting and are OK with it, it will be fine. There are beautiful wood ceilings throughout, which we really enjoyed - this was one of the home's best features. It was very clean throughout. The location is OK but a bit out of the way - you will likely have longer drives than if you stay in the Railyard area, for instance. The bathroom is very nice. So is the kitchen - it had most of the things we needed to prepare simple meals, yet there were only a couple forks and the kitchen knives were so dull they were almost unusable. The beds and pillows are hard - I slept OK in that little trundle bed, because I had to, but I was really happy to move on to a better bed. The living room photo in the ad is accurate EXCEPT for the brightness - the room is comfy but very dark, not light like in the photo. Also, the outdoor table (which we used constantly) had uncomfortable metal folding chairs (the kind you use with a folding card table), which was disappointing. Window coverings are sub-par, and include shabby blinds in the sun room, with many missing and broken slats. Finally, I thought the rental agreement was unreasonable and there was too much communication from too many different senders.
the pictures don't reflect the reality. broken curtains, garden was not groom. I called KOKOPELLI local agency was on hold for 50 minutes after a lady answered. I told them that my husband passed away our first hours on our arrival and I ll leave Saturday morning. No empathy, nothing. Fedex or a packages cie entered inside during my absence . This is not acceptable.
Our family of 5: kids 11, 9, 9, spent a lovely week in this cute cottage. Couple of key points. Great location on a quiet residential street. Easy drive to the plaza, meow wolf, Railyard. Great restaurants within short drive or walk. Do not miss Jamba. The cottage was well stocked and comfortable.
This listing seems very quaint on the surface, and it really is a cute cottage in a great part of town. Nice neighbors/neighborhood, and a great layout, with outdoor space to enjoy time outside with friends. However, several things missed the mark - the trundle bed was covered in mouse feces, which is likely due to the old banana we found under the bed. The ceiling fans were covered in dust, which we only found out when we turned one on. Lastly, the sleeper sofa was far from comfortable - the couple that slept in that bed ended up sleeping on the floor because the springs/frame were felt through the mattress. We've reached out to the property manager, but have not been able to connect with her just yet.
Hello. Thanks for hosting us. Just a quick FYI,
The kitchen is teeming with ants. The counter and sink had ant activity when we walked in the door. If you left a plate or cup unattended for less than a minute, ants would come and join the party.
Consider using the cleaning fee to get an exterminator to help you out.
Staying at Kiva Cottage was a great base for everything we wanted to do in Santa Fe - Meow Wolf, Bandelier, Ski Santa Fe. This property shares a few walls with a neighbor but youâd never know it - everything was as quiet and peaceful as could be for our stay.
We had a question on what to do for parking, as someone blocked the unitâs driveway for a few hours one night. The property managers were very helpful and responsive to our questions!
Overall everything was great. We had some problems with the air-conditioning not keeping up. They were able to bring fans over to us to help. We loved the amount of space.
We enjoyed our stay here, the location isnât central but itâs a quick drive to the center and Meow Wolf is very close. Also Kakawa chocolate shop if you love chocolate! And lots of restaurants around. Just FYI if you go in summer thereâs only AC in the living room, so our sons slept in the living room, we slept with the windows open and it wasnât too bad but the bedrooms do get warm during the day. Also, there is a laundry room but you share with another residence next door, but it wasnât an a problem for us at all. Great outdoor space and our boys loved the all the games! Kitchen doesnât have high end supplies but it was fine for us. We cooked a lot while there to save money. The king bed was very firm. Some people like that but for me too firm but seems like most short term rentals we stay at have very firm beds. Overall great stay!
We loved the house and the locator the place. Everything was within few minutes drive. House is well maintained, well equipped and perfect for our family. Will recommend to anyone and planning to visit again!
