Our stay was ok, but there are definitely opportunities for improvement:
(1) The location of the lone entrance / exit is very inconvenient. Exiting north(west) bound much faster and easier if they could open up access to the road behind the hotel, Redfern Road.
(2) The staff was oddly uninformed about local attractions. They were not aware that Caspersen Beach has been inaccessible by car since 2024. This resulted in lots of confusion and wasted time on our first day. They also told us we could reach it from the other side by walking about 20 minutes. Turns out it's more than 2 miles along the boardwalk (which I couldn't even run in 20 minutes).
(3) Missing thoughtful touches. Low on toilet paper, but no extra roll visible. No foot bath outside for coming back from the beach. The manual lock that used to be on the interior of the door had been removed (leaving just the deadbolt on the handle). Hand soap was fixed to the wall where my kid couldn't reach. Nothing that would prevent me from coming back altogether, but in combination with #s 1 and 2, I won't be back.
