Location and property are amazing. The unit was clean and well appointed. Had a small issue with the check in process. Property management team was responsive and got the issue handled promptly! There is noise from the dumpsters being emptied in the mornings but nothing that should sway anyoneâs decision to not stay here. Would definitely stay here again in the future!
Overall, this was a beautiful place, great location, and the listing was accurate. The only downside was the location for retrieving the key fab. Maybe, rethink the location of the key fab but I truly enjoyed my stay.
It was a blast!! It wasnât a bad walk from most places and the room was great! It was a bit noisy at night but nothing that kept us up at all!! Would recommend and would definitely book again!!!
This stay was fantastic. We have a daughter in college that also lives in the building. This rental was perfect for us to be close to her but give her space while we visited.
The location is incredible and close to great food and entertainment.
The alley can be noisy in the mornings, but it was not bad enough to reflect in a review.
Really good experience with the property. Easy to check in. Good communication by the manager. Excellent location to dine, party, shop and visit culture. However to take advantage of the pool they advertise you have to rent a car or take a 30 min Uber ride. Pool is nice and but is located on Tybee Island not in Svannah. Also you may want to rent a car to get to Hilton Head and or other islands. But the condo is in a great location to just hangout in Savannah.
The property was as listed. We were able to walk to everything. Clean and well equipped with everything needed. Layout and furniture made it feel like home! Check-in could be confusing if you don't watch the videos as the fob is located a few blocks away. Watch all the videos! It makes things simple. Would recommend without hesitation.
The apartment was in the perfect location for our 3-day getaway to Savannah. Very clean and easily accessible since we walked to most of our destinations. The only setback for us was that this was a getaway (where we would normally like to sleep in a bit more than usual), but because the apartment is on the backside of the building and next to a restaurant, the trash pickup for the multiple dumpsters every morning at 6:30am made it impossible. Otherwise, loved the apartment and very easy to communicate with the property manager. We used the pool on Tybee Island as well and enjoyed having that benefit!
We loved our stay at Drayton Escape. I chose to stay here because of the proximity between Forsyth Park area and the riverfront. Both were within walking distance with lots of cute coffee shops and plenty of restaurants super close. The only complaint, and I know the owners can't help this, is the noise level. I never heard a peep from the other people in the condos but the trash pickup anywhere between 4am and 6am was SO loud, it went on for almost 30 minutes, and it was every single morning of our weeklong stay. Otherwise everything was perfect.
Already did a review then was sent link to do so, thus making sure it was posted. This place is FANTASTIC EXCEPT the old windows allowed exhaust from a truck to enter one morning and we had to leave early for coffee after an hour. Other mornings garbage trucks outside for over an hour. Only 1 of 5 mornings was it quiet. We anticipated city noise, however this was over the top. If an hour or two of truck and garbage noise early morning doesn't bother you, you won't find a better place to stay. One other item we didn't know about until we booked, you have to pick up a fob to enter the secure building from another location. Recommend bringing a flashlight for lockbox if you are arriving after dark.
The apartment and location were amazing! The size and amenities were perfect for me and my husband for a long weekend in Savannah. The cute aesthetic was an added bonus. The location is fantastic. You are within 10-15 minutes of all the major sites and attractions in the historic district. The one issue (and itâs definitely a big one) is the noise pollution from the alleyway downstairs. The apartment is right next to a couple of restaurants and bars, so this resulted in clinking bottles, loud music, and dumpster trucks/slams all through the night. Itâs so loud as if the windows were open. Even with our sound machine at full-blast, we were still awoken several times throughout the night. As perfect as this place is, I highly recommend they sound-proof it or try and negotiate trash pick-up times. We would love to stay here again except the noise would prevent us from booking again.
wifi information is wrong and was frustrating to figure it out on my own because I didnât want to be charged 100 dollars for calling the after hours phone number for a non emergency. Even though they listed the password wrong on multiple handouts . Had to go on a scavenger hunt to actually get into the condo.
I left my iPhone charger there but itâs not worth having to pay âfor time it takes to ship itemâ whatever that means.
The condo itself is beautiful. But this place isnât worth the hassle.
My friend and I stayed here for a girls weekend and had a great time.
There were a few minor inconveniences with the apartment: the AC didnât work very well, some of the towels werenât very clean, the master bathroom didnât have any privacy, the apartment building was being renovated and painted during our stay, and our key wasnât available until 20 minutes past our check in time. As many of the other reviews mentioned, there is a lot of noise from the street/garbage trucks throughout the night and in the early morning. We knew this going in and are both heavy sleepers, so it wasnât an issue. I probably wouldnât stay here if I was a light sleeper.
The best thing about this apartment is the location. We could walk everywhere we wanted to eat or see in under 10 minutes. It was the perfect distance between Forsyth Park and River Street. We also felt safe staying here and walking around at night (as two young women). The apartment itself is decorated very nicely. Finally, the king bed is massive and was comfy.
The location, cleanliness and appointments of this apartment were great but the communication from the team was the best Iâve ever had from any property manager. Very quick responses on some questions I had and they even reached out without being prompted at the end of the trip. Iâd stay at any of southern belles properties for that reason alone. The apartment itself isnât for everyone, itâs all open concept so the master bath is open to the master bed (just a glass wall) including the toilet in the master bathroom which made it unusable in my opinion. Thankfully there is a half bath as well but if youâre not comfortable showering somewhere where you can be seen this place isnât for you. The other drawback is the noise level. I had read the other reviews and thought people were just being dramatic but it was very loud. The apartment faces an alley with dumpsters and they collect them very early in the morning and it sounds like theyâre in your room. The windows are very thin. So if youâre a light sleeper, beware. But honestly the noise kind of got us moving faster every day so, silver lining. Overall very nice, we didnât realize there was a gym we had access to in the building until the last two days so check that out too. We did visit the pool on Tybee which wouldâve been so nice had it not been infested with children. As two childless adults we felt uncomfortable getting in the pool with them. I suggest going earlier in the day maybe to avoid kids. Thereâs no jacuzzi btw.
We had very mixed feelings about staying at this property. First of all, we paid for early check in and when we arrived (1/2 hour AFTER our Scheduled time) 3 housekeepers were in the unit still cleaning. I should also mention here that NONE of them were wearing masks! I found that fascinating because the property management stresses how they clean and sanitize everything but what good is that if one of the house keepers is COVID Positive and spreading their virus all over the apartment? They did refund our early check in immediately without us asking and apologized for the early check in mix up. The apartment was wonderful. No surprises visually. Everything looked beautiful and was very well appointed. Towels and linens were terrific and the shower was unnecessarily HUGE. It would have been nice to have an actual closed in toilet and not one that was open to a glass wall in the bedroom. However they had another powder room near the entrance to the apartment. The LOCATION was perfect. Except for one major unacceptable flaw. It was terribly noisy. So much so that we left a day early. Also should mention that the apartment faces a back alley and starting at 6:40 am multiple trucks were dumping huge garbage bins and delivering large amounts of stuff to the building right next door. It was EXCRUCIATINGLY LOUD. Iâm not exaggerating. It ended around 10am however the next night there was music playing loudly from a business or neighbor nearby from 10:00pm until 1:40 am. NON STOP. I noticed the entire wall of windows (like 40 feet worth) were all original windows with no soundproofing or double or triple panes. You could hear if someone dropped their keys in the street 5floors below. We left our vacation exhausted. So this is a very mixed review. Great location, beautiful apartment. However because of the noise level I feel this issue negated ALL the positive aspects the noise was that bad.
The check-in process that was explained in the email was not accurate, as prior renters misplaced the key fob. We did not receive an updated communication that there was a different check-in process. Aside from paying for an early check-in and not having the key to check-in when needed, the stay was great!
I loved this place! From the second you walk in, decor is exactly as the photos but better in person. Cute, charming, view from the Windows Isnât amazing but theyâre nice windows to have an open view. The bathrooms are great, funny to have 2 in a one bedroom. The bed was super comfy my friend ended up coming to stay with me.
ONE drawback... this place is overlooking the alley between the Drayton towers and the PerryLane hotel it is LOUD at night. There is a dump truck that comes EVERY SINGLE night to pick up garbage from hotel (I assume) and there are at least 8 LARGE garbage bins that get picked up between the hours of like 1-3 am TERRIBLY LOUD. The windows are DEF not sound proof and good look sleeping through it even with headphones...
This place exceeded my expectations! The place looks even better than the pictures online. I loved the spacious shower with the rain shower head and the lift top coffee table, ideal for a night of staying in to watch a movie and ordering takeout. The place had a side view of downtown and was in centralized location. Everything was in walking distance, I barely had to use my car.
Everyone who lived in the building was friendly and the place was secure with a night shift security guard. The building was beside two boutiques on each side for easy shopping. Across the street was the highly rated restaurant, Hitch.
Southern Belle Rentals were responsive and helpful. They provided instructions for checking in a few days prior to our stay. They also checked in with us to make sure we found everything to be in good condition.
The only cons would be that it was a little difficult to access the key fob to check in. The lockbox was hidden and hard to open but after finding it and watching the YouTube tutorial on how to open the lockbox, we were able to obtain the key fob with no further issues.
Also, there was loud construction going on beside the building which made it hard to sleep but this only occurred on one night/morning. Private Parking was also not included with our stay. We had to schedule an appointment with the visitor center to purchase a parking pass which was not expensive at all. Other than these small inconveniences, we had a great time!
