We stayed for one night and we absolutely loved it. From start to finish the staff were exceptional. We arrived to find this amazing hotel that had such stunning grounds and views. On entering the hotel staff at reception were so helpful and very polite. Our room was overlooking the sea and the grounds. Very large quiet room with all amenities. Beds comfy and room at good temperature. We ventured into the grounds which were breathtaking, this hotel also functions for weddings and I can see why. The views and beauty of this place are amazing. We will definitely be back. The breakfast was very nice with ample choice of full English as well as cereals, pastries and fruit and yogurt. It’s self serve but does have a menu option available. The hotel is on the doorstep of the National trust Cleveland coastal route where we walked and seen over 300seals and my god could you hear them but absolutely amazing experience, there was also some highland cows a few minutes walk from the hotel. Staff at the hotel were very knowledgeable about the hotel and its surroundings and gave us some information about the seals and an alternative route to take to see them closer. We will definitely return as we both loved it so much.
An absolutely stunning hotel, the staff here are as lovely as the hotel setting. I would definitely recommend staying and i would definitely stay here again. Lovely walks around the area too so bring your hiking boots, Robin Hoods Bay is a 5 mile walk away.
Very tidy and staff made you welcome and very pleasant

Not the best
Downstairs entrance hallway is impressive. Although, you have no idea if you're walking into the right place, as there's no signage anywhere on or around the building.
As you travel upstairs to the rooms the decor is pretty shabby for the price. I understand they are doing the rooms up - we had first hand experience of this when they started sandpapering the walls in the room next to us at 7.45 in the morning.
The restaurant food was nice, and the restaurant staff were great. We got lucky being sat next to the window as the rest of the room is really dark and depressing.
It cost us £16 for a large vodka with a splash of soda and a lager. Luckily we had been warned beforehand that the drinks were overpriced, so we only had the one there. It is geared up more for weddings but i can't see guests being happy at paying those prices for what you get as a whole. I wouldn't stay there again.

Rooms need updating
We arrived and at first glance it looks very beautiful and the views are picturesque. The room was very different, they was no welcome pack about the locality and little tea coffee etc ,we were disappointed definitely needs upgrading and the TV kept going off on some channels. The breakfast was okay, although it has great potential we will not be going back
The decor down stairs was lovely the bedroom ll6the bed wasn't comfortable needs replacing and the bedroom carpets need replacing the food and the drinks far to expensive very good views
This property is absolutely beautiful with the most stunning views of Robin Hood Bay, The bedroom we had was a little on the tired side but the public areas are stunning and must have been recently renovated.
Thankfully we visited whilst there were no weddings on, so we had full access to all areas but be aware that if you are a private individual visiting whilst a wedding is on, your access will be limited so best to double check in advance.
