We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The building itself is beautifully restored with exquisite details, and everything was very clean and well-maintained. The breakfast was also excellent â varied, fresh, and of high quality.
However, there were a few things that took away from the overall comfort. The windows in our room only had blackout curtains, so if we wanted any privacy while wearing light clothing, we had to keep the curtains fully closed at all times. Some sheer curtains would have been very welcome.
As Scandinavians, where smoking is no longer very common, we were also bothered by the constant smell of cigarette smoke drifting in from the restaurant terrace downstairs. It meant we couldnât keep the balcony door open, which was unfortunate. This might not be an issue for everyone, but itâs good to be aware of if youâre sensitive to smoke.
There was no air conditioning in the room â although a fan had been provided, which helped a bit â but during the summer heat, the room became uncomfortably warm.
On a positive note, the location is great: close to restaurants, shopping street, and the train station.
