This was my second stay here and I'll return. Amazing value and lively safe location. Private rooms with fridge, kettle, towels, fan, heater, windows. Shared kitchen fully stocked. Shared clean bathrooms. No staff at front desk so you'll need to text any questions.
The Good: Check-in and access to the building and my room were very easy and convenient. The room and shared bathroom were clean and attractive. The neighborhood is fantastic & very lively on the weekends.
The Bad: I wasn't expecting high-end hotel luxury, but the king size bed was very uncomfortable. I could feel the bedframe through the very thin mattress, it felt like sleeping on an old fold-out couch.
Overall, the good outweighed the bad, and it was worth the relatively low price. I would stay here again, but I would hope the bed quality could be improved.
I loved the convenience and charm of this hotel/hostel! Wonderful kitchen amenities, clean bathrooms, comfy bed. I wish they included soap on the shower and provided earplugs. It's right in a lively street so there's some street noise and earplugs would help. I'll definitely stay again!
I don't usually leave bad reviews, but I texted and called the number that the hotel provided with questions and I never received a text back. I would have assumed that it was a one-off, but while I was there, another guest who had a reservation was stuck outside. When I asked him if he needed help, he said that he had never heard back from the hotel staff to get his code for entry or room assignment. When I checked in on him about an hour later, he was still waiting to hear back and was considering having to sleep in the lobby.
Loved the atmosphere the brick walls gave off such a cozy, New York vibe. Watching the autumn leaves through the window made it even more beautiful.
I took off one star because my private room smelled a bit like cigarette smoke, but overall, I really enjoyed my stay.
