Step straight from the door onto footpaths and trails that link up with the famous North Downs Way. The location is ideal for discovering some of Kent’s finest historic houses and gardens. Ightham Mote (5 miles) is a beautifully preserved medieval manor surrounded by woodland, while Knole (9 miles), set within a vast deer park, is one of England’s grandest stately homes. Chartwell (14 miles), once the home of Winston Churchill, and Hever Castle (15 miles), childhood home of Anne Boleyn, both offer fascinating insights into the past. For scientific history, visit Darwin House (21 miles), where Charles Darwin developed his theory of evolution, or travel to Sevenoaks (8 miles) for independent shops and cafes. Borough Green rail station (2 miles) has regular trains to London and the famous Brands Hatch circuit (9 miles) always has a full programme of events.
