Having 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms is indeed a plus with 7 adults and 2 children. We spent much time on the porch and had many bear visitors......PLEASE DON'T FEED THEM. We hiked to Laurel Falls, ate at Elvira's and bought tasty peach and blackberry wine at Tennessee Shine Co in Wears Valley. (free tastings and refreshing wine slushies).
Metcalf Bottoms has hiking, water and picnic area. We went there twice. Kiddos loved the water.
Coffee lovers MUST go to Little River Coffee Company in Townsend (which has numerous shops and sights). We were there every morning for a real cup of coffee. My husband purchased a 5 pound bag of beans (did I mention they roast them there on location?) The owners are friendly and it's obvious they love what they do.
We had a wonderful time in spite of some issues with the house. (Ceiling fans that wobble, door knobs that need replaced, water leaks, no propane fire pit (was rusted out and behind the shed), 6 open holes dug so we didn't use the lower porch area, and downstairs bath not clean) Management was alerted to all these and addressed what they could with us there. The house needs some maintenance that can't be done while rented.
The kitchen was nicely stocked with plenty of silverware, glasses, cups, plates, etc.
The grill worked just fine. EVERY time we grilled we cleaned the grease tray and pan. If you don't, you're liable to have bears damage the grill.
Line Springs Rd. is a better way to get to Majestic View!
