We have stayed here several times over the years. This motel is consistently the same-CLEAN, Comfortable,Quiet stays. Reasonably priced and best of all friendly helpful owners. This property is deserving of a 9+ rating!

An Older But Decent Motel

Shamrock is on old Route 66. It is an older motel. We stayed because of the 9.2 rating but this is more like a 7.5 place. The reception clerk was very friendly and helpful with restaurant suggestions. The room is dated but the beds were firm but okay. The AC works however the fan runs constantly even when the compressor turns off. The bathroom is small and the toilet is very low. For an elderly couple this was challenging! We didn’t use the shower but the tub area was very clean and had safety strips. The refrigerator and TV worked fine. Breakfast was ok. There were 3 types of cereal, biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs. There were also a waffle maker. The orange juice tastes like Tang, not real juice. The breakfast area is an actual converted room, so space is limited to about 8-10. The Shamrock was not very busy either night we stayed so it was quiet. There are a couple of newer and more up-to-date hotels in town but for the price and comfort we were happy with our decision to stay here. This is about halfway to our son’s home in Dallas so we will probably stay again on our next trip.

Everything about this hotel was great except the breakfast, which when we got there for breakfast everything was gone, but the manager was there very shortly & filled things back up. The room was clean. The manager was very helpful & friendly. Everything was provided with the room. Out of the 4 hotels we stayed at on this vacation, this one was THE BEST!

This was easily the best hotel we stayed at in our two week cross country motorcycle trip. And it was the cheapest! By far the cleanest room we've ever seen! And the owner was so nice - just an amazing experience! The bathroom was a little outdated but still clean, great water pressure, and perfect water temperature for a nice long hot shower.

The staff at the motel were very friendly. The room decor is old but fine. The rooms are carpeted and smell a little bit. We walked the town. The history of Route 66 is pretty cool to learn. We went to Loretta’s and got a few cute gifts and went to Tower Station U-Drop cafe and learned some history. It was a cool stop.
