Great location in a wonderful historic villageHouse was very comfortable, welcoming, spacious and well appointed. What they call the kids bedroom works perfectly for an adult. The host kindly lent us board games and decorated for Christmas The only minor ânegativeâ thing was that the kitchen could do with a deep clean. I had to wash any utensils or pans before use, but overal the house was clean, so this was minor for me.
The Shire Cottage is a great place to stay. It has plenty of space for a family and is well kept. It is quintessential England. We had a great time exploring the grounds also. The only thing to note for future is that there are several other rentals on the property. All have their own dedicated space however. But if youâre looking for complete privacy, this one might not be right. Lastly, the owners/managers went above and beyond to accommodate us Americans that arenât used to no AC. It wasnât hot outside but weâre just so used to sleeping in the cold AC. The owners/manger helped us out and got a fan for us to use at night. Thanks so much!
The cottage was located well and very well equipped. The bedrooms were a good size too. My only disappointment was the cleanliness of the property. The kitchen tea towel looked like the floor had been cleaned with it. The bedrooms had cobwebs, but it is the season! And the bedroom window had dead flies as we checked in. The kitchen floor was dirty. I good vacuum and wet mop was required and the towels needed to be washed on a hot wash. Aside from this, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it again.
This was our first time away as a family with our 2 month old son. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was very comfortable and spacious and communication was excellent.
